There was a thread not too long ago about what time you get home from work, but I'm wondering what time you get up to start getting ready and what time you have to be there?

DH may have a change in his work hours that would mean he'd start work at 5 a.m.! Yuck! It's about a 30 minute drive to his job so he'd have to be up pretty early to get going. Not sure if he can do it. We are night owls now. They might have to offer something pretty good to make us consider this. IMO ;)

When I have to be at work by 7:30 I get up at 6:00 and when I have to be at work at 8:30, I get up at 6:30 because the traffic by then is much heavier.

I have to be at work at 8:30, I wake up at 7:30, eat, shower, Dis, take the dog to potty, and I try to leave home around 8:20, but usually, It's not until 8:24, then I get to work at 8:29.

I usually start at 8 so I get up at 6. I walk to work and it takes me about 5 minutes but I like to have time in the morning, plus DD12 leaves for school at 7:40. DH leaves at 4:30, he gets up around 3.

Wow, that means you can be at work in just 5 minutes? Lucky! ;)

What's that like for him? Is it hard? How long has he been doing that? And what time does he have to get to bed at night?

Yup, I Love it! I actually have to jobs, and luckily they are both close, the other is an 8 minute drive. I lucked out!

up at 2:30-usually in bed around 8 the night before. I am a district manager for a newspaper. It depends on what time the truck departs as to what time I leave-this morning I'll leave home at 3:40 for my 5 minute drive to the pickup point.

I have a flexible schedule so a nap usually occurs around late morning.

Around 7-7:30 PM to be at work by 9 PM. I will be switching hours sometime in the near future and will have to be in at 11 AM, what a change that will be!

How fair is this?

I don't work, but I have to get up at 6 a.m. to make sure everyone else is up and ready! DH leaves for work around 7, but he can usually be found snoozing until it's time to run out the door. DS catches the bus around 7, and I drive DD to school around 7:30 or so. I spend the entire time DISing, and acting like a snooze alarm for everybody.

I have to admit, I really hate it. I wish they'd all just get up and moving on their own.

I have to be at work by 6:30, and I live 45 minutes away. I'm up about 4:40. I eat breakfast every morning, and have some quiet time before I leave. If I'm pressed, I can actually get ready in about 15 minutes including shower and makeup! It's easier now that my kids get themselves up and ready (actually after I leave).

The earliest I consistently got up was when we lived 50 miles from work. We got the kids up and drove them in with us. So I was up at 4:00, ready myself by 4:45, then got the kids up and ready to leave by 5:45 to drop them off at daycare by 6:50 and in to work by 7:30. Those were REALLY long days, because we didn't get home until about 7:00, and everyone was in bed by 8:30 or 9:00.

I currently don't work, but I still get up when my husband does. I could let myself sleep late, but I'd rather not get in the habit. We both get up at 4:40 a.m. Well actually, he get's up at 4:40, stretches, and starts singing. I, on the other hand, lay in bed for about 5 more minutes, grumble my way to the shower, and don't speak for about 30 minutes.

I married a HORRIBLE morning person! :)

I leave in about two minutes for work. I like to get to school by 5 after 7:00. :)

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I'd have to kill my husband if he did something so ungodly as to sing in the mornings! :rotfl2:

I'm more like you -- don't talk to me for a while and we'll be just fine. DS is the exact same way, except he's actually really nasty. DD and DH are pretty friendly in the morning, but for the most part, they leave me and DS alone in our morning misery.

This week I have been orienting to a new PRN position I will be doing so I have been getting up at 0530.. Leave at 0630 and don't get home until 5:30 pm. sigh. Long days this week.
Usually I get up around 6:30 or so. I don't have to be at my usual job until about 8 most days but some days start OR at 0730 so have to get up earlier those days and leave earlier.

6am to get DS ready for the school bus
Once he's gone I have 2.5hrs before I need to go to work. I WATP
