What time do you usually eat dinner?

We eat from around 7.30 to 8.30pm depending on when my hubby gets home.

I have everything ready to be cooked, hubby rings when he is about 15 mins away and I throw everything on the hotplates etc. and we eat about 15 mins after he gets home.

If hubby isn't coming home for dinner my son and I usually eat a bit earlier at about 7.00pm.

When I was a kid we ate at 6 but it was just the kids. My dad worked late and my mom and he would eat when he got home between 7:30-8. Sundays we all ate together in the "fancy dining room" on the fancy china around 6.

Nowadays it depends on our work schedule which changes every year but at least stays pretty consistent for that year. This year I dont get home until 8 at least 4 days per week. DH gets home then too on MWF and often we just dont feel like eating so it might be sandwiches on the fly. When DD was in school we got home earlier but probably didnt eat before 7 at the earliest. But on Sundays we try to eat at 6 unless we are working.

8:00 pm.

We get off work at 6pm, home by 7 pm, and usually do some chores or some relaxing before we start cooking.

Growing up we ate around 8, weekends were more around 9

Now I like to feed my kids earlier and have a private dinner with my husband around 9 or 10

Growing up we ate as soon as dad got home and cleaned up. Maybe around 5p.m.
My family eats around 6:30 or 7 p.m.

We have different activities during the week with 3 different kids, so dinner is anywhere from 6-7:30.

When I was growing up, I had 2 activities but they were almost right after school, so no dinner conflict there. My dad would never eat before 7:00. EVER. I was a starving teenager(like most are) It drove me crazy. Now I understand, I like to eat a little later in the evening.

My kids aren't home from school until 4:15ish and neither was i as a kid. I cannot imagine having had dinner so early.

During the school year, we have dinner between 6:30 and 7:30 depending on what activities might be going on and also when my husband is able to get off work (he calls me as he pulls out of the parking lot so I have time to cook---I get everything prepped by then and cook it while he drives. If he cannot be home by 7:30 we eat without him (so the kids have time to eat, shower, etc before bed) and then the kids and I have a small dessert at the table while he eats whenever he does get there (or I am the only one sitting with him on the nights when he gets in after bedtime).

Over school breaks we are more likely to eat dinner around 8:00ish--especially in the summer when it is light out until quite late.

Growing up, dinner was always at 4:00 pm on the dot.

Nowadays, we don't really have a firm dinner time. It can be anywhere from 5-7, although I try not to eat much later than 7 or 8 because I have reflux disease and will suffer all night from it if I eat too late.

Usually we eat around 7. DH works until at least 6:30, and I'm usually carting kids around until then.

My MIL always calls my house around then and acts SHOCKED that we are eating 'so late'...dinner at her house is on the table at 5:00 on the dot. No amount of explaining to her that DH isn't even HOME then can convince her that dinner isn't 'supposed' to be at 5. :rotfl2:

I can't imagine eating dinner at 4PM...elementary school students in my town mostly aren't even HOME then (the k-2 schools here in town dismiss at 3:35). And by the time you eat breakfast at 6am or so the next day, you'd be starving!

We usually eat around 6:30. DH get off work at 5 and I am supposed to but most nights I'm here until almost 6.

Growing up I think we ate around 6:30. Both my parents worked until 5. Mom had a 10 min commute but dad had an hour commute so we would eat when he got home.
