Just curious. We will be going the Sunday before Labor Day and I'm wondering what would be the best time. :confused3 Do you recommend checking in early morning or waiting until the 3:00 check in time? We've not made many requests, we would only like to get AB at POR and have paid for waterview. Thanks

I always check in when I get there, mostly early/late morning. One time our room was ready when we checked in at 10:00 a.m. They will hold you'r luggage for you until you'r room is ready while you enjoy the parks.

We arrive at WDW always around 11 am. Luggage is usually stored for us at the resort. We ALWAYS pack a 'change of clothes bag'.
When we get to the resort we change from our Northern clothes to our
Southern clothes. The resort has never had a problem placing our
'change of clothes bag' with our luggage after we changed (in the bathrooms off the lobby). We keep our cell phone and call during the afternoon to see
if our room is ready.

2 suggestions - if you have a pass which willl allow you to go to a park the 1st day and you do not have small children wining to go to MK, go to EPCOT.
EPCOT never seems crowded mid-day.

If you can not go to a park the 1st day - pack swim suits in your 'change of clothes bag' and relax by the resort pool until your room is ready. Or go to DTD and walk around, take a boat ride, play mini golf, go to WL campgounds and visit the petting zoo.

If you do not have a cell phone or do not wish to use one, go to the information area of any park and ask to call your resort to see if your room is ready. Mind you - you should be staying at a WDW resort to do this from an information area at any WDW park.

I do not mean to be long winded. But experience helps to keep the familt calm and everyone happy. After getting very little sleep the night before we arrive at WDW can get my family a bit off-balance - but WDW magic always brightens the day :flower: :wizard:

We always check in as soon as we arrive. Sometimes our room is ready already, sometimes not.

This year we land at 12:00pm. I am hoping to be at the resort no later then 1:30pm to check in.

We always check in as soon as we arrive, leave our luggage and head into the world. We can always get our stuff together in the room later, after we have fun!! :earsboy:

always check in as soon as we arrive...usually by 11:30am, get lunch and head to the MK.... :)

We usually take the first morning flight out, then we have the whole day ahead of us....

Thanks for all the great tips. Thanks to everyone that replied.. Sorry I didn't get by to say thanks sooner. :wave2:

We have always just checked in when we arrive. This has been as early as 8am to as late as 9pm. We have found when we have requested water view rooms that we have never been disappointed no matter how late we check in. With our Jan trip, we arrived at POR at 8:30am (due to a super early flight to save some mulaa) and found that they had a room ready for us that fit our specifications that early in the morning! Otherwise you can just check the bags, grab a bus and head to the parks. Have a great time :teeth:

Check in when we arrive. When we split stay, we wake up early and check in by 7am to the next resort.

We usually check in somewhere around 7:30-8:30 am.

we check in between 8:30am and 9am. we try and leave our house by 6am so we can do a park the 1st day. :earsboy:

We usually arrive by about 8am and check in as soon as we get there. 99% of the time our room is ready. I've found that when requesting connecting or adjacent rooms, there is a wait, but not too long. We have a long list of requests this time, so I am not expecting our room to be ready, but there is always a chance! Have a great time! :cool1:

This Aug DS13 & I should be checking into the VWL about 11am on a Sat (plane lands at 945am)
then checking into WL about 7am on a Fri
then checking into BCV about 9am on a Sun

Never wait-check in right away!
We usually arrive around 9am and check in then, check our luggage and off we go!

Check in early! We checked in around 7:45am. We had made a room request and because we checked in early, we were able to get the room we wanted. :goodvibes
