What time do the gates open?

I know the park opens at 9, but I've read reports of people arriving at 8:30. Do they let you in at 8:30 or do you have to line up at the entrance?

Last weekend they let people in at 8:45. It really depends on what they are predicting for attendance, the amount of people at the gate, and it the park is ready for the guests.
