Okay...so we are debating golf cart vs. internal buses.

I think we are okay with waiting for the buses.

We are up early kind of people though.

We might want to go check things out early.

What time do the internal buses start running? We will be there in June? I have searched and searched with no answers.

Thanks to the one who knows the answer!

If I recall correctly (and we were quite close to a stop) they started around 6:30 - 7:00 AM. At least an hour before a park EMH for sure. If the restaurant is open, then they are definitely running and I believe Trail's End starts serving breakfast at 7:30.

Having a golf cart is great, though. If it's in the budget, I'd recommend it. We had one for part of our stay last time and it felt so much more "free" if that makes sense. We could take a quick jaunt around the Fort and not worry if/when the bus was coming. And it's fun!!

1) The "day shift" buses pull from the bus barn at 6:30am.
2) Expect to see them about 6:45am at FW.
3) They are supposed to run every 20-minutes.
4) They run internally until about 2:00am under normal conditions.
. . . exception: 3-hrs after last park closes, if after 2:00am
. . . exception: 2-hrs after any late closings at Pleasure Island, if after 2:00am

Why would Fort Wilderness buses be any different than any other Disney bus?

Why would Fort Wilderness buses be any different than any other Disney bus?

The buses we're discussing are the internal buses that just run within Fort Wilderness. The Fort is gigantic and you need to use transportation to get to the hub areas for food, recreation as well as get to the external transportation. The question was in regard to getting around the Fort, that's all. It's the only Disney resort with an internal bus system. At every other big resort, you have to use park buses to get around. That's what makes the Fort awesome!
