considering that the ship is planning to arrive in port at 7:35am?

Planning on a Jan '06 Wonder cruise, and school is out Mon-Wed. We are taking the kids out of school for just one day (assuming we make it back home Thurs night). But I'm thinking of holding them out a second day (Friday) and visiting Universal {ducks}, maybe staying at the Nick Suites in Orlando.

But we'd need to leave Sat afternoon, and I'd like to get to Orlando ASAP on Thursday in order to max out our park time.

How long does it usually take to get "untangled" and get on the road, approximately?

The first people to leave the ship are usually off no later than 8:00am. The ship will probably be in port earlier than the 7:35am that they have listed. If there are rough seas or some other reason for it to be late, you may not get off by 8:00am. They request that everyone be off the ship by 9:00am. Not sure how you're getting from the port to Orlando, but travel time to WDW is a little over an hour. The debarkation procedure on DCL is much smoother/faster than I've seen (or heard about) on other cruise lines. It's really pretty painless...... walk off the ship, head down to the baggage area, find your bags, drop off your Customs declaration and you're out the door. Your luggage will all be in one color-coded area in baggage claim so it's usually pretty easy to find.

We went with a large group last February and 10 of them were at the gates of MK by 9am after disembarking and driving their own car to Orlando. It is very doable! Have Fun!!!! :cool1:
