I'm trying to get a room with free dining offer but its sold out. The phone rep said that I should check back to see if any rooms open up. My question is at what time should I be checking? 6 am, 7 am or 12 am? Or is it random? And is there any website that would let us know of new availability?

Finally, has anyone actually succeeded at getting free dining days after it was sold out? My travel date is 7/6/2020 and looking at value resorts.

It's random and there are no websites that would alert you to availability. You just need to keep checking and, if it becomes available, book it quickly as it may not be available for long. You may also want to price out any available rooms with the Sun and Fun promo. At a value, free dining is most likely a better savings, but a room-only discount is better than nothing.

Random. It depends if anybody cancels, when they cancel in relation to your call, whether Disney adds rooms...

as a followup question, does calling in give any benefit? Or what I see online is what they see? And when looking online, should I just look at a new booking or try to change my current booking? I think adding a new booking would be easier. I am just worried about my ADRs.

They typically see what you see, but cookies can affect that, as can a room becoming available at just the moment the CM looks.

Your ADRs will not be affected by canceling or modifying a resort reservation. Calling in might offer a benefit. I once called in to make a reservation and the CM could see availability that I was not seeing online. It seems their system updates a little faster than the website.

Personally, I think it's faster to check inventory by simply making a new booking. Just make sure you aren't within any cancellation or change penalty windows if you decide to book something new and cancel your original reservation.

Just as a heads up "sold out" may mean one of two things in Disney CM-speak: (1) there were rooms available with the free dining promotion for your resort and dates, but other customers called in and reserved them first; or (2) the promotion was never an option for your stay. Free dining is typically only offered on select room categories and not at all resorts on all the dates, for all lengths of stay.

I see very little point in continuing to check. If what is going on is option (1), there is no telling when anyone will cancel, and there probably won't be a ton of cancellations at the value resort level because it is unlikely someone is going to find a better deal than free dining. If (2), I wouldn't count on additional free dining discount availability being dropped by Disney

Check often throughout the day. I was just able to move room categories about 30 minutes ago and save an additional 200.00 for my carribean beach reservation.
