What tickets should I buy???

I assumed I would purchase my WDW at the resort guest services but I have read that you can save $ by purchasing ahead. We would be interested in either a 7 day MYW base ticket or a 10 day non-expiration ticket (for two seperate vacations, 5 days each).

As a Canadian, where could I pre-purchase the tickets and are the discounts worth buying ahead, or should I simply wait and buy them at the WDW resort.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated since I have no clue about this ticket stuff (first WDW holiday only went to parks 2 days).

Caa had a good price on the 5 day, but if you want the 10 day I would order directly from Disney at the advance price.

I just ordered mine for Resort delivery on day of arrival.

I also ordered 4 day park hopper tickets (1+) for $239.00 from www.mapleleaftickets.com also with resort delivery ($5.00)
I have read good reports about both of these ticket brokers.

Could you tell me if this is for the new MYW tickets or is it for the park hopper ones? Is the cost listed somewhere on the CAA website? I haven't used CAA before so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I also ordered 4 day park hopper tickets (1+) for $239.00 from www.mapleleaftickets.com also with resort delivery ($5.00)
I have read good reports about both of these ticket brokers.

Could you post your experiences on these purchases when you're back Carol? I would like to know if you got them at the resort and if they were delivered to you on time.

Hi CanadianCruiser2,

The 4 day tickets are the old PHP.

The new MYW 4 day tickets cost $272 from all the main ticket brokers in Orlando (but they do have +3plus days on them).

I will let you know how things turned out re the hotel delivery.

I am lucky in that I don't need the tickets for the first day we arrive, so if they are not at the front desk upon arrival, I have still got time for the companies to deliver them. One of the ticket brokers (I can't remember which one) states that they do not deliver until after 3pm.

Both of these companies are recommended by mousesavers.com.

Hockeymom (or anyone else): how do you order direct from WDW? On-line or through CRO? Are their prices listed somewhere on their website? I can't seem to find the prices .

1. the 7 day base ticket (for 2 adults, 2 kids) for next trip, we really only need 5 days, but it is only a little more $ to purchase the 7 day

2. Or pay more and get the 10 day non-expiration tickets (for the next two trips, 5 days each trip). I would pay more for these tickets now but would save $ overall.

Not sure why you're willing to pay more for the same tickets from WDW when Maple Leaf Tickets, TicketMania or a host of other ticket brokers could have the exact same ticket delivered to you at your resort. DD5, DW and I did exactly this -- by purchasing in advance and from a ticket broker we saved $100 US compared to what we would have paid for the 10 day MYW, PH, 5+, no exp. tickets from WDW at the gate.

I ordered our tickets from Maple Leaf Tickets on 30 DEC 04. They had just released their MYW pricing -- Ticket Mania wasn't able to begin shipping until 5 JAN, but we were checking in on 4 JAN. The tickets were waiting for us at check-in at SSR as they promised and the tickets were identical to the WDW ticket media available at the parks.

We visited the parks for 5 days - have those other 5 days sitting in an envelope in my dresser and they will only get more valuable with time. You won't have to upgrade the tickets for your DD as WDW does no penalize a child for growing up. These boards have been host to a great number of stories of adults using the tickets they first used as children with no need to upgrade.

Thank you for the info. I had no idea that the savings could be so substantial. I looked at the maple leaf tickets web site and it looks reputable, its just that I have never used a ticket broker before. Also, I had no idea that we wouldn't have to upgrade to an adult ticket for DD.

Thanks again everyone for all the info. on this. It does make sense to buy the 10 day MYW base with no-expiration option (for the next two trips) vs. the 7 day MYW base ticket it just seems like a lot of $ to put out at once.

CAA no longer carries hopper passes just the new MYW tickets. I can't remember the price for the ticket but I do remeber it was about 7 or 8 dollars cheaper than Disney.

Does CAA charge GST on the tickets? I always thought that, for example, when people used to buy the PHP from the Canadian Disney Stores that you were at least able to save tax because you didn't have to pay Florida state taxes and also avoided GST.

I can only speak of my own recent experience with Maple Leaf Tickets -- the price you see is the price you pay. The Florida State Tax has already been included in the price.

I purchased 2 adult 10 day MYW Premium Tickets (no Expiration) at $379 each and 1 child 10 day MYW Premium Ticket (no Expiration) for $337. Add to that the $4.95 resort delivery charge and it came to $1099.95 -- that is the price I was quoted online and that is the cost that was charged to my VISA card.

That $379 cost gives me a per day cost of $37.90 -- compare to the 7 day MYW Premium ticket (no Expiration) per day cost of over $46. It's a bargain to go to Disney with MYW!

Ok I have a question, There are 4 of us 3 adults and one child going for 13 days in Dec. We have already bought our 7 day php AND separate Disney Quest passes. Upon arrival I was told we could trade them in for MMW passes, I was considering 10 day premium non expiring. We bought thru Mapleleaftickets and so got a good deal, I heard Disney pays the current gate price on tickets? What do you guys think?

It was my understanding (rumours, rumours, rumours) that WDW will credit you what you paid for the tickets -- but I have no personal experience with this situation.
