What ticket to buy

I'm scheduled for two trips to Uni this year: A "girls trip" with DD for 4 nights (5 days) in Sept (over Labor Day weekend); and just me and DH over 4 nights (5 days) Oct 7-11. Booked RPR for both. I was able to apply a discount and get CL for September, didn't see any discounts for Oct.

DH and I want to go to HHN (he finally agreed to go w me!), and he wants to get Express Passes (idk if tours will be offered this year?). DD also wants to go to HHN one night (she's a young teen, loves spooky things and Beetlejuice has been her fave movie since she was about 2 years old), I'm assuming we'd get EP for that evening as well.

Since I'm going twice, I think an AP makes sense for me, but idk which one. Looking at the Premier ($624.99) or the Preferred ($449.99) pass.
- We're just taking Ubers from the airport, won't have a car either time, so parking isn't an issue.
- I see the Premier Pass has "one free HHN ticket (select nights)" but idk what nights those are?
- Is there any benefit as far as hotel discounts to getting the premier versus the preferred pass? (I'm not even sure if October would have passholder discounts at the resorts?)
- I don't think EP after 4 or early admission matter since we're staying at deluxe resorts each time, ALTHOUGH we have WDW APs and it's conceivable that DH or DD and I run over to Uni for a day during one of our WDW trips (so far we have upcoming trips in April, early Nov, Nov over Thanksgiving, Jan 2022).

No difference between the APs for room rate discounts. The AP rates are just not out yet for Oct but are usually offered.

The after 4 EP won't really be helpful on a random afternoon if your DD or DH don't also have a Premier pass. The upgrade is likely much more than you'd pay for the single HHN ticket.

We'd buy EP for the day for DD or DH if we go back another time. Although, then I guess if we're buying single day EPs and single day tickets, maybe we shouldn't just get them preferred APs also. I guess that's what a lot of us do here, talk ourselves into spending more money.

I would buy the lowest pass needed and only upgrade if there are perks you need to take advantage of AND the upgrade fee is less than paying ala carte. If one person in your party has a Preferred, you should be covered with many merch/dining discounts and parking if needed. I have a Preferred and my husband and kids all have seasonal (since the block out dates do not affect us). We only stay at the Premier hotels so EP isn't a concern for us.
