What things scared your kids?

DS who was a week shy of 3 was not a fan of anything dark or loud.

Peter Pan

He also did not like Disney Junior Live on Stage because it was too loud.

Dreams Come True stage show as out because of the fireworks & Malificent.

He was OK with the MSEP until the Captain Hook boat came through and shot a cannon and then we had to leave.

Needless to say we didn't try many of the other common frightening rides such as It's Tough to Be A Bug, Fantasmic, or Mickey's Philharmagic.

I am laughing to myself because my boys are all grown but we took them in Alien Encounter (Stitch is there now). Even the most brave of my 3 boys came totally unglued, they were 6, 8, and 10. It is a memory that we still talk about and they are 26,28and 30 now.
Now, every time we go to ITTBAB we hear kids screaming all over.

My nephew is 5 now, but went through phases of things that terrified him. First it was dark, which we learned on Nemo the hard way (longest ride EVER) then it was noise (fireworks of any kind) then it was drops (pirates) then once he started screaming on IASW because "going under the bridge was scary" now his favorite ride is Maelstrom. . .which is dark, loud and has a drop. Kids.

All 3 of my kids hate the 3d shows. Anytime we have tried them we have had to leave.

when I was about 7 I was terrfied at first going on the haunted mansion bc I thought at first it was a haunted house, I was kicking and screaming in line but after the ridethrough it was great! lol, then when I was 9 i went on alien encounter for the first time and oh my, i was crying after i got off, I was soo scare, i could of sworn something was gonna tear me up in there, lol! but when i came back to disney again I think when I was 12, I went on it again, I got over my fear and really enjoy this attraction, too bad its gone now

On our first visit we decided to use the child swap for Tower of Terror. I had to enter the Hotel with my DS3. We had to go into the pre-ride Twilight Zone video room. I assured him we wouldn't need to go in the elevator. We were led right up to the entrance to the old elevators when we were directed by a CM to go down in an elevator to meet back up with DH and DD. Not likely! It took some convincing to get my son to trust me it was alright to get in.

Our DD was always frightened on Snow White's Adventures - actually could not blame her! To be in Fantasyland it 'was' frightfull1!!

During our first few trips when my son was 6-8 , he was terrified in/on:
Its tough to be a bug & Honey I shrunk the audience

He needed his lil fingerlight/flashight on Haunted mansion the first couple of years and he wanted me to go out an emergency exit on Ellen's Universe of energy the first time we rode it!

Dark and loud scared the be-jeeezus out of him when he was little!

My daughter , on the other hand..... isnt scared of anything except needles and getting a throat culture (LOL.... I have to hold her down even now at age 19 if she needs a shot)

My 8 year old was scared of Haunted Mansion at 11pm even though he had already rode it that day just fine.

My 4 year old rode everything including TOT multiple times and wasn't scared of anything so probably depends on the child.

I recently saw an girl around 7 or 8, totally freak about the pirate show at HS we hadn't even made it in yet. But, maybe she had a pirate phobia.

The magic flushing toilet are very loud and scare lots of preschoolers.

If you are talking about my DD12, she isn't afraid of anything in Disney, however, she can't ride on Haunted Mansion without either DH or I being in the Doombuggy with her....she can't ride it with her sister alone, don't ask me why. She also hates the stretching room part, she isn't afraid of it, she just doesn't like it so she always buries her face in either mine or DH's arm as it gets pitch black and the thunder and lightning happens....well I guess she IS afraid of one thing.

As for DD10, she is more timid then her older sister and it takes her a while to find out if she will actually like a ride/attraction. She used to be terrified of ToT until I found out that she went on a sudden drop type ride at a Six Flags park last summer while visiting her grandparents (which she loved BTW), so I told her if she could handle that then she could definitely handle ToT (mind you, I don't ride that ride myself because I just don't like it, I have been on it once and that was enough for me...however, I knew my DD10 would love it, which she does and now rides it multiple times in a row ). Also, when she was younger, she wanted to go on both Space Mountain and EE, and after riding both for the first time, she came off crying and saying that she will never do them again (this was on the same trip)....well, that was until we went the next time and she wanted to try them both again, which she absolutely loved and still loves to this day .

We avoided most I thought would scare her, but at 3 she was scared of Barnstormer, the first part of Pirates and the dark parts of the TTA. Luckily, I gave her a glowstick bracelet to help keep her calm when it was totally dark. She is such a chicken we avoided Haunted Mansion and A Bug's Life in specific.

Just about every time I have been to see "It's Tough to Be a Bug", which is a lot as I have lived in the Orlando area before and had an AP, little ones had to be taken out because they were so upset. Hey I'm an adult and I still jump when the cockroaches go under my seat!

DDs 5 (x2) and 9 mo.

The big girls didn't like ToT, I think it was more the motion of the ride rather than the theming.

They also didn't like splash (one was mostly ok with it on a 2nd try, the other was still 'not terrified, but not loving it either')

They loved everything else we did (which was everything they could go on in the 40" height range), though we didn't try Dinosaur, or ITTBAB.

My DD5 was scared of everything. After freaking out on Pooh and balking at Dumbo, I realized that she was scared of all dark rides and anything with a drop. There was a lot of child swap going on during our last trip. She ended up loving Dumbo and the Flying carpets. She would much rather watch parades than ride.
