Wow is this like the longest lasting post or what?!?!

We go over once a month, so we get our share of magic.
Here's some of ours:
On my DH's 40th birthday, we came back to the room to find the balloons and card signed by his favorite character Goofy, and then room service showed up with the MOST incredible chocolate cake I've ever eaten in my life! I mentioned his bday but never expected that!

You know the Barber shop quartet over at MK? They pulled my DH up front and sang Happy Birthday to him. Then they goofed around with my DD, trading her winter hat and putting the barber shop hat on while they sang.

And once I posted on this board a few years ago about looking for the Impressions de France music when I was actually contacted by the producer of the album! He mailed me an autographed cd for my husband's Father's Day gift! I was flabbergasted!!!!! Now THAT'S magic!!!

Looking to make some more magic in June. It's our Anniversary and I'm busy calling the resorts/restaurants and trying to plan a few magical surprises, just to be sure that they happen!

At AKL they sent a gift that I had purchased to our room for DD 4th birthday with a card signed by Cinderella for DD that they provided. Just last month for DD 5th birthday we stayed at AKL again and I had a cm tell me a card would be in room when we checked in. Walked in no card!! Later I walked by the front desk and mentioned it to the cm. They saw it in the notes. "I guess they forgot" was they answer I was given!!!! No apology. That was it. Everytime I walked into our room after that I was secretly hoping they would have delivered it. It never came. I was dissappointed.

At California Grill on our final night they had a special table by the windows sprikled with pixie dust and Mickey shaped confetti. She even had a very special dessert. They did a great job!!

The one at MK and MGM are the same, but Epcot and AK have different ones.

Last September we were there for DS's birthday. When I made my ADR's the lovely CM told me she would note that in every reservation - I didn't ask her to. My plan was to make every moment magical within my control and if WDW did anything outside of that, so much the better.

So....let's see...

1. Dinner at Boma - DS received a card signed by many CM's and a special dessert just for him:

2. Cupcake and placemat at Chef Mickeys - and Donald brought the cupcake out:

3. Special dessert at Cape May Cafe and everyone sang HB to him:

4. crown, cupcake, placemat and everyone singing HB at 1900 Park Fare:

5. A cake (that I ordered), HB sung, announcement, pixie dust on the table and ribbons on the table at Liberty Tree Tavern:

6. Cupcake at 'Ohana and HB sung in Hawaiian.

7. Balloons from OKW and a signed photo of Buzz and Woody left in the room.

Other things we did: Kiddie Kone at Kona, a ride on the mouseboats at the Poly, birthday buttons at the parks, sprinkles on his dole whip, etc. It was a wonderful trip...!

DH has something really special planned for my birthday on our next trip...my birthday was in February, but we decided to celebrate in May. No, I did not put this in our ADR's...he is planning something with Special events or Private Dining or something.... I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We celebrated my DW 40th at 50's primetime cafe. An off duty cast member sitting at an ajoining table overheard us and notified of server. They got another person who was celebrating a birthday to come sing to her, and made the rest of the meal as memorable.

My husband is retired US Navy and because of that we have traveled extensively though out the US and overseas. As we both enjoy the 'happiness of Disney World' we have decided to purchase AP's and continue to visit every year during the months of September and October. We've also done ALL the Holidays and keep returning to the quieter months. Our Anniversary is October 6th and we have quietly ( never told anyone we were celebrating) spent the day unobserved except by ourselves. Twice before over the past 16 years our kids let the 'cat out of the bag' by sending us flowers and as we were at the Poly that time, we came back to our room to find a basket of fruit, wine glasses and a bottle of wine--from the Poly staff. On another occasion--due to the flowers our kids sent while we were at the Beach Club , we received a Bride and Groom Mickey & Minnie and a bottle of wine with glasses. This past year, when I realized that we wouold once again be at Disney on the 6th of October, I decided to plan a special occasion myself for our 43rd Anniversary. Several years ago, my husband either threw away or lost his wedding ring. I bought him a new one and decided to give it to him at dinner. I made PS for us at CRT on the 6th and mentioned at that time we were celebrating our 43rd Anniversary--I was told it would be 'noted' and to expect a special window table with confetti' Perfect--I thought. Well, imagine my disappointment when we were taken to just an old ordinary table without any confetti !!! After we placed our order, I found our server and told her that it was our anniversary and I wanted to surprise my husband with his new ring. She took me to the manager and she asked me if I would entrust her with the ring and she's plan a surprise. Just before our dessert, our server came to our table with a huge platter covered with a dome lid--she spoke to my husband telling him that she heard that he had lost something very important ( he was completely baffled) and she had been asked to present him with a new one. With that said, she removed the dome top and there on a bed of rose petals was the opened ring box. My husband was so surprised he had tears in his eyes. She then presented us with free wine goblets and dessert! What I didn't realize that everyone around us was watching--my only regret is that I di not get the name of the manager or our server that evening to Thank them for making it such a memorable one.

We just returned from our Anniversary/DD graduation visit. ON our anniversary (Sun 5/28) we had lunch at Tony's Town Square--it was noted on our ADR that it was our anniversary. The hostess noted it on the card given to the server. WE were told to sit and we would be called.

OUr server calls us and brings us to a lovely decorated (with Mickey Confetti and streamers) table. WE all enjoyed the decorations and it was announced in the restaurant. DH and I were wearing our "Magical Wishes" buttons and we got a great dessert.

Here we are playing "Lady and the Tramp" with DH's Spaghetti!

And here was our lovely dessert--we were on DDP so no "free" dessert!

I think if you look, you'll see the little Mickey confetti!

It was fantastic! I definately suggest noting on your ADR's that you are celebrating--however, like others have said, don't expect it, so when you get it--you'll be on .

I had lunch on my birthday at tony's at the MK. When I entered the restaurant and gave my name to the hostess and was waiting to be seated, the CM hostess and i were chatting and I happened to be wearing a birthday button from the MK. Then a few mins latter when I was escorted to my table, I found the table covered in Mickey Mouse confetti and ribbons. My waiter immediately wished me happy birthday. Then While I was eating my lunch, the waiter made an announcemnt to the restaeurant that it was my bday and told the guests in the restaurant to sing to me! Then after that embarrasing moment, the waiter brought me an unexpected complimentary ice cream sundae with a candle in it. A very nice birthday moment, i was happy, especially since i was there alone on my bday.

We've celebrated three birthday's in and around Walt Disney World.

1. My twins 8th B-day at Chef Mickey's. They really enjoyed the experience. They both got cupcakes with lit candles, confetti, special placemats and an autographed card from all of the characters. I think because it was their birthday, the characters all stopped by a few extra times which was great. We went here before I bought us all AP's and hadn't even been inside the parks yet.

2. We celebrated my 31st B-day at Epcot. I chose Teppenyaki in Japan because I love that style of dining. I had recently hurt my knee a week before our ADR but was determined to go no matter what. Well, I had to go in a wheelchair which was a little embarressing, but the dinner was really special. We stopped to get my B-day pin before dinner and every CM that we went past stopped and said HB to me, it made me feel really special. We rode the boat over to be closer to Japan and the captain said that I had a phone call. Well, I just thought he had me confused with someone else but it was Goofy wishing me a magical B-day. The dinner was so wonderful, I did get a free dessert but wasn't expecting it...and the chef's brought out a chef's hat with Happy Birthday and my name written in Japaneese (they made me wear it the whole time). It was a memorable and magical time. Oh, forgot to mention that the staff sang Happy BD to me in Japaneese, so funny but also special.

3. We decided to take the twins to Crystal Palace dinner for their 9th b-day. I had heard great things about this restaurant and couldn't wait for the experience. Well, I was kind of dissapointed. There was no confetti, no special singing, but they did get the customary cupcakes and signed cards. I wouldn't have felt bad about it because it's not like they have to do anything, but I saw special treatment happening at many other tables for their birthday's. I think it all boiled down to who we had as a CM. It does make all the difference.

I will be celebrating my 32nd B-Day this August at California Grill. I can't wait for this one, but am still a little nervous because I have heard both good and bad about this place. It is also pretty expensive and probably a place that I won't frequent because it is so pricey. I will try and update at this board on my experience there. Wish me luck.]

P.S. I read through this entire thread and I have to admit that several of these post's made me tear up. Disney can be so magical sometimes.

In January we stayed at the POP for my 37 bday. Upon check in I received a balloon from the CM at registration then I had a a signed card of Mickey And Minnie in the room. We stopped and got a birthday button and many CM in the parks greeted us with happy birthday but we didn't get any special treatment at the crystal palace or any other restaurants.

We are going for our anniversary without kids in September and hope we receive a bit of magic, but aren't expecting anything!

We were mistakenly pixie-dusted on our last trip. We came home from the parks one night, and there were a bunch of balloons in our room, all tied to a photo of Mickey and Minnie. The photo was signed from both of them, and congratulating a couple on their anniversary! We were SO confused at first, but we called the front desk and they apologized and said they would pick everything up, as the balloons were meant for another room. I felt bad that the couple never got their pixie dust, I hope they had it made up to them on another night!
