I was just on Laughing Place and they have a FastPass book. What is this for?? The picture they showed really didn't tell me much. Not that I think I have a need for such a thing (but then again maybe I do) I just want to know what it is!!!

I have the perfect place for my Fastpasses. It's called my wallet! ;)

Are you sure they were not talking about Universal? You can purchase a book of fast passes for ?$10 for the most popular rides and you can only use it once for each. We stayed on property (HRH)when we went to US so we had front of the line privilages. I would not spend extra $$ to use a FP..glad its not a disney policy!

No, it isn't Universal, I know what she is talking about, I saw it at Laughing Place yesterday too. I THINK it sorta looks like a FastPass Holder lanyard maybe? Not sure, I didn't look at it that good, but I remember seeing it and wondering about it too.

Can you give us a link to it? Laughing place sells the Fastpass holders, but that's definitly not a "book".

Here is a link. It appears to be similar to clear id holders on a retractable clip, only this is intended to hold Fastpasses. :Pinkbounc

It looks like a clear badge holder on a retractable lanyard. I guess if you really want your Fast Pass that handy...

I am going to buy a few when I go, but not for fastpasses! LOL I am going to use them for my ID at work!

Oh -- I have and use those.
They only cost $6 in the parks.
And I bought extras at a cast sale when I saw them for $1.50 EACH! :earseek:
They are nice. Most of time I just use pockets for everything. Sometimes I use one of these if I plan on riding water rides.

Had to laugh when I saw the link, because I plan on buying those on our trip to use for my work ID, like dzneprincess mentioned. I have some from DL, but want some from WDW. I think it is funny that Disney is marketing these as "fastfass holders" when they are just retractable id holders :rotfl: . Leave it to Disney to find a spin on marketing. They are great for me at work because I am always having to use my id to scan stuff, like to open doors, operate machines and pay for meals. The scanners at work are the kind where you just hold up the id next to the sensor (not like a credit card), so I don't even have to take my id out of the plastic and I just let go and it retracts back. I love them.

I bought one of those fast pass holder with the retractable cord on it. I use it for my ID at work since my ID is also a magnetic key for several doors at my workplace. I used to have to take my ID off to open the doors. Now with this fast pass holder, I hang my ID on it and pull it out to the electronic door lock. Voile! I'm in the building and my ID is still on my collar.

I doubt I would ever use it at WDW.

I have a pin lanyard/FP holder I picked up at AK - the ONLY place to get the ones with FP holders in black. I don't wear a ton of pins (just 2-3 maybe) because it makes me feel geeky, LOL, but having FP's and tickets that handy are great.

HOWEVER, and this is a BIG however, if you buy one that has velcro holding the two ends of the lanyard together FOR GOODNESS SAKE use a sewing kit or as a CM at a shop for a safety-pin so you can secure it. I almost lost it several times because the tiny patch of velcro (smaller than a postage stamp) just doesn't stick very well.

It's great - as long as you don't depend on the velcro!

I picked up a pack of four retractable ID holders at Office Depot before our recent trip. It worked out great, because each is a different color. We used them to keep our AP's and fast passes in, while at the parks. I used to get so tired of carrying everyone's tickets, fast passes, etc. Now, everyone gets to be responsible for their own stuff, and I can see that they still have them attached to their belt loops. I just had to buy the clear pouches to attach to the clips, which was together with the rest at Office Depot. My family even commented that they really liked the ID holders. My 15 year old DS even made a joke of it, pulling his ID out like a big shot, making a disapproving face and saying, "I'm with Mickey, buddy!", then pushing past me. :goodvibes

Reading this post I thought of my kids. I think I might get some attatched to the kids with their info incase we get separated. They both have little ID's and theyd think it so cool to where their ID like daddy does. Is there anything disnyish about the ones you buy there other than the packaging and the price ? How much were they at Office Depot? Thanks for the tip on the lanyard!!

BTW I've wondered a few times when seeing prices on laughing place if they are called that for all the laughing the do when people pay their prices?

Beth, I'm sorry I don't remember the price at Office Depot, but I bet you could find the price by looking at Office Depot's web site. I think it's a great idea to put their info in the ID holder. You could get the plain ones, and put some Disney stickers on the outside of the plastic ID holder. I really liked the way they clipped onto the belt loop of our pants. I never had to worry about them falling off. The kids' name and information wouldn't be that easy for someone else to see either, especially if you made it so that their info was kind of folded up and had to be removed to be read. The ID holders were the best thing I bought for our last trip! :)

I thought someone "warned" me about purchasing from them...sd they didn't ever recv their merchandise...but I keep seeing their name mentioned...true or not?

I have 3 or 4 lanyards from differant sources [just ordered a DIS lanyard last week]. They are all the velcro type and I have never had a problem with them anytime I wear them. Which is all the time when I'm at WDW. They have never even opened on rides. Have I just been lucky or did my fellow New Englander get a defective one?

I got a couple of the velcro type lanyards from Kelloggs a few years ago. I also used them for work. I had a few pins on them that made them heavy and they kept coming undone. So I had to pin them shut.
