What the HECK is Apples to Apples?

This game is about to cause me to lose my sanity. I am working at a retail store this Christmas, and have recieved SOOO many calls asking for this game. What is so wonderful about Apples to Apples? What on earth is this? And why do I can 20 calls a day asking if we have any? Some toys I can understand parents getting anxious about, but a board game?

Thank goodness this is the last semester I have to spend in retail until I graduate. I don't think my sanity would make it through another Christmas!

It's a cute game, but since the "winner" of each round is chosen by someone who reads all the answers and decides who gave the best response, it's not a good game for my very competitive 6yo. My boys wanted to get it for him, but I didn't want it (he played it this summer with friends).

If you can truly keep the answers anonymous until after the best answer is chosen (and the kids are older than my son, who needed someone to help him write the answers) it seems like a good game.

It's a great game! I run an after school program and we have the junior and junior+. It's hands down the favorite with the kids.

In the junior+ version the new judge is the person to the left of the previous judge, so everyone gets a fair chance of it. We play both ways depending on the group and if they're playing for fun or to be competetive.

Another great game of this company's is called Blink. It takes abotu 2 minutes to play and is a lot of fun as a 2 player game.

My brother's family brought it to a family reunion this summer. There were 19 kids at the reunion ranging in age from 20 to 9. Many of them had only met before at funerals. They started playing apples to apples and continued to play it for hours. It seems like a really good ice-breaker, party game and is good for adults and children. I bought it for my 19 year old niece for Christmas.

We played this game both nights of our girls getaway in Sept. It is so much fun, i'd never heard of it until then. You gotta keep those answers annonomous so it's totally fair. The game can get pretty hilarious!

We LOVE this game. We also alternate the judge, so everyone gets a chance. Our 8 year old daughter plays it with us, and even though she doesn't always understand the words, she just plays any old card. Sometimes the laugh it provides gets her the win. We've played it on family vacations to Yellowstone, houseboating on Lake Powell, Disneyland, anywhere. It's very portable, and everyone loves it! We give it a solid 2 thumbs up!

This is one of the best adult games out there especially if everyone is tipsy! Every hand you try and outwit each other and by the end everyone is cracking up. I love this game and I hope to play it this weekend with my family!!

This is a GREAT game for all ages (well anyone that can read). We play it with adult, we play it with kids, we all love it. We play with a new "judge" each new card. Our motto is "you have to know your judge" which is true when you are picking your "answer".

That's actually what is happening at work. I have co-workers buying it just because it's popular. I haven't given in yet, but I do now have a raincheck for Apples to Apples. I'm going to wait for the Christmas rush to calm down.
