So...i made ressies months ago and when i booked my original package was told i could add dining on later. This is for two adults and one child on the basic plan...sooo....i call tonight to get a total price and was told that it was basically $40 per day per adult and $11 per day for our dd (7)...then i asked about tax and she told me that with tax it would run me around $800 ??? Something isnt meshing well here...either i was misinformed the first time i booked my package (I was told under $700) and there is a $10 changing fee too? can anyone help me get more accurate info here? I am thinking of not getting it now because that seems a bit steep...I hardly eat anyhow...ugh

I thought the sales tax was 6.5 percent? Even at a 10 perecent it still wouldnt be $800...durggghhh

~I am so confused now. eck...

we are arriving on the 24th of june and leaving the 1st of July :) sorry, my brain seems to have left me this evening lol....

Hi. We are doing about the same plan.
7 nights dining.
2 adults @ 39.99= $559.86
1 child @ 10.99= $ 76.93

Total $636.79
Tax @ 6.5% $ 41.39

Total $678.18

Well, thats what I get, anybody else?

Your package already includes park tickets, right?
I bet they just misquoted to you.

hotel and park tickets included....

she was very nice but did seem a bit ditzy :)

I just wanted to know for sure so i can put the right amount on my pre paid visa (dont own a real credit card as we are debt free ! whooo hooo)

The dining plan prices of $39.99 and $10.99 already include tax. You don't add tax on top of them.

Based on the dates you stated you are staying for seven nights (June 24 - July 1). Your daily cost for two adults and one child is $90.97 (39.99 + 39.99 + 10.99).

$90.97 x 7 nights = $636.79

There were reports here a few months ago about Guests being charged $10 to add the Dining Plan - but they were doing it MUCH closer to their respective arrivals, as in, within days.

Disney generally doesn't charge a fee when we're giving them more of our money ;). You might want to call back and check all pricing with a different CM.

It just occurred to me - make sure they aren't adding travel insurance onto your package. The difference between what you should be paying $636 and the $800 you said you were quoted sounds close to the amount that the travel insurance would be. Insurance on your package for two adults would be $133.90.

In the past few months when I've done package changes for clients I've encountered the $10 fee. Told by a few CMs that it's for re-doing the travel documents, and often I get a 2nd vacation packet sent out if I make the change close to their arrival date, even when I've told the CM I don't need one. Since the DDP is on the room key, all I need is fax or email showing the client now has it on their package so they can take that printout with them. There needs to be a way to supress that extra $10 fee.

They won't charge the $50 revision fee (actually $60 with that document fee) if you are adding to the package after your 45 day final payment date, but there is no reason for that extra $10 if you don't need new documents sent out (change of resort, adding people to your party, etc.).

If I make the changes closer to the 45 days date and not so close to the client's check in date, I often just get the one updated package from WDTC, so not everyone who does a change will get a 2nd set of documents. FWIW, I tell clients that get a 2nd package that it includes an arcade card, mini golf voucher, sea racer voucher, and the Planet Hollywood vouchers, so use those extra vouchers for the $10 you paid!

Another thought.......

Did you book a promotional rate that is no longer bookable? If the CM is trying to add a dining plan the system may be re-pricing your package at current pricing since the code is expired. I've seen different codes for promo/dining plan combos, so just adding a DDP to the promo code you booked doesn't compute in their system. You may need Guest Services to override it if it's possible in this case. Unfortunatley some CM's seem clueless as to why the pricing changes, you sometimes need to call back to get someone more experienced or have Guest Services alter the reservation.

~ EXACTLY correct

I just got off the phone with them and this lady took the time to check and give me a figure. $636.79 :)

THANK you all for your input!

Also, I asked about a $10 charge. She told me that they charge you $0 as long as its at least 3 days prior to your first day there.

Sounds good! Glad you got it staight. We will be paying for our plan too as we will be staying on points.
All's well with the world! :goodvibes I didn't realise that tax is included. Even better!

I just called tonight, which is just under 2 weeks before our arrival, and was charged the $10. Now, I didn't have the exact price in front of me, I just knew it should be "around" $900. We are also two adults and one child, but we are staying ten nights. I just checked and instead of $909.70 it was $919.70. So it is charged regardless of whether it is less than three days before arrival or not.

The cm had me on hold then came back on asking if we used a promo and I said yes, the Buy3Get4, and she said since they were no longer booking that promo she would have to go through the back of the system to add the Dining Plan. So I guess we were fortunate to get a good cm, Josie, who knew what she was doing.

Regarding what tinka-belle said, I hope we do get another set of travel documents! My DD would be happy to get another Arcade card, lol.

Happy travelling and eating everyone!! :flower3:

lol ...ok...so $10 isnt a big deal then but these fruits need to get their info straight!!! lol

Whats the deal with this extra package then??? Free stuff? Discounts?

You'll have to be more clear on what you mean by "Whats the deal with this extra package then??? Free stuff? Discounts?" (and, um, referring to CMs as fruits probably isn't the best way ;) - they're people).
