what temp do you keep your heat at?

During the winter we keep it at around 69, unless is gets really and I mean really cold. In the summer we keep it around 65. Can you tell I do not like to be hot.

We keep it at 59 all winter long. (We live in PA, so it does get quite cold.) We wear lots of sweats and have extra blankets all around the house.

During the day we keep the thermostat anywhere between 65-70 degrees (obv. during the Winter months), however, I turn it off completely at night because I HATE to be hot while I'm sleeping. In fact, I keep my bedroom window open year round (it's wide open right now and it's snowing LOL) so that I don't get too hot...my poor, poor freezing DH :rotfl: The only thing that stinks about keeping the heat off at night is how cold the house is in the morning which makes it more difficult to get out bed hehe.

58 at night, 64 during the day (64 downstairs, the upstairs one stays at 58 all day). our house is really expensive to heat, and honestly I like sleeping in a cooler room...have flannel sheets and a down comforter, its nice and cozy. :)

Winter 68, summer 72-74. We do have some electric heat units that help. At night I love my electric blanket.

he now has the heat turned way down to 60 and I am freezing! There is NO way I am going to freeze my family out for a few bucks a month!

I thought you people up north thought 55 was hot! I thought that was shorts weather?

My Uncle is a heating technician/Furnace guy and he said leaving your heat at a reasonable temperature constantly is better than turning it down and up... We keep ours between 68*(normally) and 72* (if I'm really cold).

During the winter months, daytime is set at 70-74, nighttime is 72. And I have the ceiling fans on all the time. (more so for the noise and slight breeze than to cool the house)

nighttime it is set at 62 and daytime 67.When we are at work it is also set at 62

We set the temperature on 60 at night. The daytime temperature is usually around 64-65, but it varies depending on how cold I feel.

I would actually prefer to keep it at 70 in the daytime, but with oil prices this year, I just won't do it.

We're at 67.

I run "hot" (thank you menopause ;)). Dh is OK with sometimes wearing a fleece or covering up with a light throw if he is chilly when he is watching TV.

If my mother is coming over, I turn it up to 70, because she feels the cold.

For the last three days my head was at about 100F.

but the house is at 70-74. And that is just because of the christmas lights on the tree, windows and the four shelves of christmas scenes of buildings and people (all lit up, of course).

My heat clicks on if the temperature inside drops below 58. I live on the third floor and get West sun, so between those too things I can keep it pretty warm even when the temp drops to the low 30s at night. We've been lucky and that hasn't happened too often so far this winter. I have a down blanket and comforter, and when it gets very cold - 3 cats and a hat! :confused3 Could be why I am still single? ;)

Lord you Yankees are crazy. Our house stays at 74 overnight in the winter, maybe 72 during the day. We also have a small space heater in the bedroom for extra warmth but set it to 78 so it doesn't kick on much. In the summer we keep it around 76 or 77 with ceiling fans.

No way I'd keep ours set in the 60s. I'd freeze. After having family in the Florida/South Georgia area for more than ten generations, there ain't no cold weather genes left in me at all. :)
