I just picked a bunch of jalepeno and "fooled you" peppers (semi-hot)

Chopped them up and put them in freezer bags touse during the winter for chili, dips, etc.

Just ate a chicken wing, and apparently my fingers touched my big mouth! My mouth is burning! What do I use to get this "heat" off my fingers? (Good thing I didn't put in my contacts today)

Next time wear gloves when you chop peppers. I always do, or I end up with pepper juice in my eyes.

I used to work with a lady who said her DH unknowingly got pepper juice on his hands while eating tacos one night. He found out the next time he went potty. :) I always think of him every time I chop peppers now. ;)

Thanks Indyman. Will do that now.

LOL. Whoa! Will be sure to wear gloves next time! :teeth:

I did that last year with banana peppers. I tried everything to stop the burning. Husband called the doctor, the doctor told him to have me take some benadryl. Sure enough it stopped.

Peppers are acidic...with a pH value about 5.6 +/-.....try countering with a base or alkaline....mix a bit of baking soda or borax with water to form a paste...and clean your hands...pay special notice to cleaning under your finger nails with a brush.....

....I've been, thar, dun that....this has worked fer me! :)
