what stuff do you leave in the stroller while on rides and what stuff do you take?

I know Disney is supposed to be a family friendly place, but I want honest answers. If we leave our double stroller all alone while we are on rides, should I bring everything on the ride with us? I plan to mark the stroller with something large (ribbon, etc.) so we won't have to look too hard to find it after, but I don't know how much that will deter any theif from taking our stuff. I'm planning to attach a stroller mesh bag and fill it with diapers, wipes, snacks, etc. and possibly other more valuable things like our small camera (we'll bring the SLR with us alllll the time) and/or purchases. Is this safe? This is my first trip with kids and I need advice! If it matters, the stroller is the Jeep double umbrella stroller.
Thanks!

I take anything that would be a big deal to lose. Things I don't mind leaving: a blanket, coloring book, food that is packed up, diaper bag. I always send my purchases back to the resort so that I don't have to deal with that.

I would never leave anything of value like cameras and such. I wouldn't even leave any souvies you buy. The 1 time I have gone with a stroller (when I was young with my cousin) we only left ponchos in the stroller. When we go this time I will only leave ponchos and maybe any long sleeve shirts we bring. I don't trust anyone even in Disney.

What about water bottles? I got DD and DS engraved water bottles (the metal kind) to bring along. Should I even bring those with us on rides?

I bet you those would be ok to leave. Maybe just throw a ponch or blanket over them. I am paranoid so I would just cover them

You should leave anything that you wouldn't mind if it wasn't there when you returned to your stroller. People will take anything at all. If it's cold outside, they will take those cute blankets you have for the baby to keep from having to buy a sweatshirt.

If you don't want to have to replace it, feel free to leave it on the stroller.

I always use those water bottle clips and keep them on me. I look at it this way: if I set it down on a curb and walked away for 20 minutes, would I assume it hadn't been touched? People can be weird. As said above, at least cover it up.

Isn't that just sad because it is the truth? I couldn't imagine taking anything from someone esp out of a baby stroller. I have never stollen from someone and never have. If you can't afford to provide somthing for your family then you shouldn't go to Disney

We just got back last Monday from our first trip. My plan had been to have a backpack and camera bag for my DSLR camera, and bring both of those with us everytime we left the stroller. The backpack had diapers, changes of clothes, autograph books, snacks. Well, by day 2 we found it a pain to take that with us, and we had also added a tote bag with light-up toys, stroller rain covers, extra sandals. (We traveled kind of heavy!). We took our chances and began leaving everything but the camera bag, and never had any problems. We did buy one of those overpriced $17 misting fans, and we took that with us. We left our refillable mugs with no problems, but we did take any kind of souvenirs or anything in a Disney sales bag, so as not to tempt anyone. It seemed like most of this kind of stuff was left in most people's strollers, and we never heard of any problems. HTH!

I have never had a problem leaving our stroller at any theme park we've ever been. That being said, I always take my camera and little wallet with all our room cards/tickets and money in it. In 07 I left my little wallet on the bench while DH took DD on Dumbo. I guess I was so taken with DD's first Dumbo ride that I was taking pics fast & furious and when we got up to leave I left the wallet on the bench. I didn't realize this right away, of course. No, not until we went to Pooh's Adventure did I realize it cause I didn't have our fast passes! I only had a few dollars in it, but my ID, along with one credit card/debit card, our photopass, room key, & tickets were inside it. I got lucky and it was actually turned in at lost and found. I got it all back...wasn't missing a thing.:wizard:

So, just use common sense. I have a basket underneath the seat that I always put a duffle bag in and inside the bag is where I keep 90% of our stuff...diapers, wipes, snacks, sunscreen, extra clothes, purchases, etc. The only thing that stays visible at most times is a sippy cup or drink on the tray, maybe a toy or something and a blankie. I cover our stroller with a plastic stroller cover to protect it from those pop up Florida rain showers (or monsoons) and though it's see through and not iron clad, it wraps everything up under a little protective covering that I think would make it difficult for anyone to just "grab & go"

I also put a plastic luggage tag (a very brightly colored one) on the handle of the stroller. Made it easier to spot when we got off a ride with 100 other little ones!

I don't leave anything I don't mind losing. I'll take my purse and camera, but we'll leave the diaper bag and snacks. If someone really is that desperate to take what we have, I guess they have a greater need.

We have a blanket we bring called " big red fuzzy". Its well big, red and fuzzy. Since we almost always travel in the winter it comes with us. That goes on top of everything in the stroller. We take always with us the one bag that has the camera and stuff in it. Which is usually worn by DH or myself while we are there. The diaper bag stays in the bottom of the stroller. We try to stay pretty light on stuff we bring in.

2 trips so far with a stroller and never had any problems. Even when my nephew left his lacoste sweater in the bottom of the stroller, no prob's at all!

When I went last June I had left the carrying case for the camera hanging on the stroller but brought the camera in while we ate at Tony's. When I came out the case was gone. It was my dads camera and I still hear how he had it for years and never lost a thing, then hands it to me and it gets lost. I learned my lesson.

We left DS's blanket and snacks in the stroller. I also left his sippy. I took the diaper bag and our Katadyn water bottles. I saw many people who left their diaper bags, but I was just not comfortable doing that (I guess that stems from my purse getting stolen multiple times in my very large public high school! lol)

Back in my stroller days I used to leave anything I didn't mind replacing in the stroller. That meant I carried my wallet and camera, everything else stayed behind. If someone wanted my spare diapers, clothing, etc enough to steal them, they must need them more than I do.

Purchases are sent to the room or the front of the park. Or taken with me if that is not possible. No point in tempting people with a shopping bag.

When i was in college i did a trip with my parents, uncle and his 2 kids who were still stroller age. They were using one of the old blue strollers in Mk for the day. This was probably in March, so it was one of those weeks where you needed a light jacket in the mornings and evenings, but not in the day. At one point we went into a ride or restaurant and left their jackets in the stroller. I imagine it must have been starting to get cool or cooled off while we were inside. When we came out the stroller was still there (name thing still in tact) but the jackets were gone. My mom wound up buying a beach towel for them to wrap up in later on because it did get pretty chilly that night. Just goes to show, people will take anything from anyone. Our plan (we'll be taking our little one for his first trip in May) will be to travel as light as we can within reason, and make sure we only leave what we're willing to lose in the stroller.

Usually we take our camera and my little wristlet purse (holds credit cards, etc) on rides and leave everything else in the stroller. This last trip however, we took a small backpack and just put everything in there and carried it. I didn't want to lose DD's bottles or formula since they were in the bag. We always leave the stroller fans (hidden underneath since we know people who have had them stollen) ponchos and snacks in the stroller. If we buy something, we have it sent to the resort, so we don't have to carry it.

I can't imagine leaving the DIAPER bag on the stroller.

If someone takes it, what will YOU do for diapering supplies?

I cannot tell you how many times I have seen people run into the Disneyland baby care center in a PANIC because their diaper bag was stolen from their stroller and they need to now BUY diapers and wipes. They are not cheap...

Take the diaper supplies with you, and anything else that your CHILD requires.

This is what I am comfortable leaving IN the stroller:

-park maps
-snacks/drinks in SECURE, unopened packaging (that would be obvious if it had been opened)

In general, just travel as light as possible. Try to keep it to one backpack, and just sling that over the stroller while you walk, to save your back, and then when you park the stroller, remove the bag (which should have EVERYTHING in it) and put it on your back while in line. This is the best way to deal with "baby stuff" at WDW. BACKPACK. Leave the "diaper bag" at home.

I've never been to Disney w/ my children but we have had strollers in Six Flags, Carowinds, and Busch Gardens. And I think you should be okay w/ bringing only the valuables you'd carry in your fanny, shoulder or back pack i.e. cameras, money, tickets, credit cards, etc. on the rides and just cover any other items left under the stroller w/ a blanket. Then the entire stroller w/ a rain cover. That's how we've managed stroller parking in an amusement park environment. :thumbsup2
