We have sold all of our strollers as the youngest two are 3 and 5 but have found we still need a stroller after all for 3 year old for park and zoo days. Its also nice to use as the pack mule so my back doesnt get broke!

I have looked at the Pliko p3 and Maclaren volo but volo only goes to 40 lbs. I liked the light weight and mesh lining of the volo though. I liked the standing footrest on the back of the pliko. No I dont want to get a sit and stand, had that, sold it, tired of pushing larger strollers around when we rarely use the entire stroller as they like to walk but 3 year old tires out quicker and we have "rented" park/zoo strollers but find we are tired of shelling out 6$,9$ and $20 every time we go!

Thanks for any expertise, opinions and advice offered!

We plan to rent the city jogger regular when we go to give it a try out. Then if we like it and it has room we will buy.

I own a Maclaren Triumph but his legs almost drag.

Maclarens all go to 55 lbs, not 40!

also Baby Jogger. Can't say enough good things about mine and my DS is 58 lbs.

We rented the double city mini from orlando stroller rentals when we went back in February and LOVED it! However, we have no need for everyday use of such a big stroller but worked great for our LOOOONNNNNGGGGGG disney days!

Volo hasa lower weight limit than all the other MacClarens; the others are indeed 55 lbs.

Most jogging strollers will take a higher weight limit. We have the Baby Jogger ATS and it goes to 75 lbs.

I highly recommend the Baby Jogger City Classic. We have had both the Peg Perego and the Maclaren Volo & the BJ blows them both away. The Volo does say up to 50lbs but once my dd hit about 40 it was soooo hard to steer and push and the sides looked like they were going to buckle. The BJ City Classic holds up to 75lbs and my dd is 6 yrs old 51 lbs and 51" and fits comfortably in the BJ. It is a dream to push and I can stear it with one hand through Disney traffic! It is lightweight, folds with one hand by pulling on 1 strap and also has great storage and a huge adjustable sunshade. If you make the investment in the BJ it will be the last stroller you will need to buy and the last you will ever want!

We just purchased the Baby Jogger Mini for our upcoming trip for our twin 21mth olds (about 30lb each). My 6 year old (58lb) and 7 year old (70lb) both sat in the stroller and I pushed them around. The max weight is 100lb for a double and I was able to easily push them around ...won't do that anymore just wanted to see how it held up. I was easily able to push my 6 yr old and one of the twins. I had a combi, graco, maclearn, instep, baby sit and stand, peg, and martinelli and by far the baby jogger is the best in my opinion. It just seems to have figured everything out like the canopy, seat cushioning, adjusting the seat...everything is so easy to use (except can't find a way to lock the stroller once it is shut???). It is very $$$$.

On the side of the BJ stroller there is a small peg that sticks out and there is a bracket that you push down & it clicks around the peg to lock it shut.

For the other posters about the 55 lb weight limit. Yes, it can hold up to 55 lbs, BUT pushing it with a 45 lb little girl was HARD! It did not maneuver well and the side supports were literally bending under her weight. She was 46" and 45 lbs and my very strong 290lb football player husband even had a hard time steering it. The baby jogger is much sturdier and drives like a dream with my now 51 lbs 51" tall 6 year old sitting in it.

I used a Mac Volo in November for my DD who had just turned 6. She weighed 50 lbs and was about 44 inches tall. It worked wonderful for us. I loved how light weight it was and easy to fold up and carry on the bus. I just wish it would have had a cup holder for me.

The Volo definitely goes to 55lbs and it's a dream to push with a bigger child in it!

I bought an aftermarket organizer like this:

I use it to hold my phone, keys, money, etc. whenever we go somewhere. The mesh bag is also has holds a sweatshirt or whatever else we need to carry with us. And there are 2 drink holders. Works great for water bottles or hard reusable bottles.

I love the Volo. It works great for the heavier older kids. I use it for the kids I babysit. Mostly for an almost 4 year old who weighs almost 40 lbs. I did try it out with my 7 year old 49 lb DS just to see, and it worked great. It is so easy to push and steer. It is also very light and easy to carry with the strap. The manual says it holds up to 55 lbs.

The older volo's were 40-ish pounds. The new ones, which are no longer "mesh", but a sateen type fabric, hold up to 55 pounds.

I gave my old mesh one to a co-worker, since DS4 was buckling the frame and went to Babies R Us and bought a new volo (non-mesh 2009 version) and the instructions show a 55lb. wgt. limit and DS4 is about 60lbs. and it holds him fine and the frame isn't buckling.
