We have asked for a special needs room overlooking the otter pond at WL. Is there a specific room I should ask for? First time at WL and we have a standard woods view. We leave in 5 days!! DH and I will both have ecv's and a car. Does anyone know if the water level is such that we will be able to take our ECV's on the boats next week?

Someone suggested taking a pillow for the ecv seat, anyone know about that?

Do we trade in our AAA 4 hopper passes for something else when we get there?

How do I find out what the weather will be at DW next week?

Thanks for your help, I'm getting nervous that I don't have things planned that I should have!

Thanks Lene

There may not be a lot of choice for "special needs" rooms. "Special needs" is not really a room class. They have different levels of accessibility in rooms; all the way from everything being accessible to someone who can't leave their wheelchair, to rooms with tubs that have grab bars.
You probably need to determines exactly what you need; ie, do you need a roll in shower and raised seat toilet? If so, that's a fully wheelchair accessible room and only about 2- 4% of the rooms are fully wheelchair accessible. They may not have one available at the time you are arriving with the exact view you are looking for. If you don't need the wheelchair accessible features, then you might just want a regular room close to the elevator.

The "pillow on the seat" is to help pad it a little. It's probably not a problem for an ecv; they have padded seats (like a Director's chair). A pillow is sometimes nice to have for those. Rather than an actual pillow, a lot of people take along a padded chair pad. You can get them at places like Target, Walmart or KMart in the Housewares/Linens department. They have ties on the cushion to secure them to a chair.

Many of your questions might be better answered on the disABILITIES Forum. There are really great people over there with tons of information from experience. Post them a note. Good luck with your planning and don't be nervous. Everything'll be great.
