The thread about souveniers people hated got me thinking about souveniers you wish you'd bought, especially the ones you can't get any more. For me, it's a particular coffee mug at AK. I loved the design, but I've got so many WDW coffee mugs, I always told myself I didn't need another. But every year, I'd pick it up in the gift shops in AK and admire the design. Well, this year I decided "What the heck-I'm gonna get it anyways". And you know what happened-of course, it wasn't there anymore. After years of carrying that design, I guess AK decided it was time to change. Maybe next trip I'll try the outlet stores, Mouse Surplus. You know, it'll probably cost me about 3 times as much for this stupid mug now. Also, in Scotland in WS, I once saw a nice wooden plaque of golf for DH. Naturally, when I decided to buy it, I went back and it was gone. Naturally, the last one and they're not getting any more. And how about the make your own CDs they used to have? Anyone else regret any souveniers they didn't buy?

I wished I had gotten the license plate frame. It says Been there, done that , going back, or something like that. We went in August and I didn't see any license plate frames.

On my last trip, I held the Aztec gold medallion from the Pirates movie in my hand and decided naaah -- $10 for something I'll never wear?

Now I realize that I would have worn it practically daily, and I'm very very miffed with myself.

We love coffee mugs, and I wish I got one at each of the resorts we've stayed at. I also told myself I would get a Christmas ornament during each trip, and I always forget to pick one up at the Christmas store in MK.

I saw this really cool picture frame collage with about 10 places for pictures. One of the holes was Mickey shaped! I didn't get it because it looked too heavy/bulky to carry and ended up buying it over the phone at home and paid LOTS for shippping. I'm glad I have it, but it would have been SO much cheaper to have carried it home.

Back in May of this year, I went to the WOD store at DTD and bought my mom a beautiful wood picture frame that had the Fab Five on it. It was only $16 and yet I didn't buy myself one. Now I can't find them anywhere and I'm looking very hard! From now on, if I want something, I am buying it right then and there!

Last time we stayed at Wl, DH saw a Lincoln Log set of the WL. He really wanted it for our ds 3, but I thought, "my goodness, how are we going to get that home and do he really need a $60 set of Lincoln logs when he hardly plays with the one he has" Well sure enough, not long after we got home he really started getting into them. Dh looked so sullen playing with ds and not able to build a replica of WL!

When we were at WDW last November, I went to the christmas store and spent at least an hour looking at all the ornaments, trying to limit what I would buy. In the end, I bought 1 and I let my DS and DD each pick one. We brought them home, then, a few days later I asked my babysitter to clean the house (we pay her extra for this). The ornaments were in a bag with some tissue paper on top, and she thought it was trash and threw the whole bag out!!! I didn't realize until a few days later, but it was too late--my DH had already taken all the trash to the dump. I then CALLED THE STORE AND DESCRIBED THE ORNAMENTS. They seemed to know which ones i had purchase, so I paid for them, again, and they shipped them. When they got to my house, only one ornament was the right one. So, this November, I am going to allow myself to go to the Christmas store and buy as many ornaments as I want!!!!!!!

Back in the day, on one of my first trips to WDW, I had the $ to purchase a production cel from a film. I'd saved and scrimped and budgeted, and I was working for The Disney Store (my 3rd, very part-time job), so I would have had a discount. But when I was visiting WDW, I was overwhelmed by the options, I kept thinking there were more practical things to spend the money on, and my then-husband kept telling me it was a waste of money for something I would just hang on a wall.

In the end, I couldn't decide and I felt pressured to use the money on an "us" experience instead of a cel for me. So instead of spending the money on a cel, I spent most of the money and smaller, more disposable souvies (t-shirts, gifts for other folks, ears), lots of drinks at PI, and more expensive dining than I'd planned.

Yep, I regret it.

There's a really pretty collection of china cups @ Great Britain in Epcot.I'm going there during my Thanksgiving trip and will buy a couple to start my collection. Everytime I use one,it will serve as a reminder of my trip. I've passed those cups and looked at them but didn't buy-not this time!

We have learded after many trips that if we have it in hand and really want it then buy it. They switch out merch so much that whats there today is gone tomorrow.

I had the hardest time finding the monorail as they were in between runs . I have also called back and ordered over the phone.

We also ship any breakables or large item directly through Disney as they have a great replacement policy.

I had Bought an Extra set of dishes.......We we got married 9 years ago, we honeymooned in disney.....we bought the AWESOME dishes at Downtown Disney...Black and white with mickey heads..we got the Big plates, big bowls, little plates and mugs........BUT We only Bought the Correct amount, no Extras.......(can you see whats coming :sad1: )

A bowl broke.........and I *CANNOT* find another....

I should have grabbed and Extra set *IN CASE* :sad1:

Would love to have bought a German Engel doll for my daughter.

My husband wants a cuckoo clock from the same store in Germany.

Years ago I saw a T-shirt at WDW that pictured Mickey and Minnie in the same pose as Norman Rockwell's The Spooners. The back view of them, on a bench, Pluto laying on the ground. It was in some Art store at the very beginning of Main St. But it was expensive, so I decided against it. I STILL think it about it now and then. I told DH about it as we waitied for a parade, and shortly afterward he said "I'll be right back" and disappeared for a while. I became convinced that he was off buying that shirt, but he was just having trouble finding the bathroom! :rotfl:

I wish I had gotten a Stitch plush with a Santa hat. I saw it in the Christmas shop in MGM. I really wanted it but DH kind of talked me out of it. I thought about calling and seeing if I could get it but DH says he totally does not even remember it and I cannot remember it well enough (which makes me feel like maybe it was all in my head!). :)

For some reason I want one of the trolls in Norway. They have one that is a family of trolls. Everytime I go in there I say I'm going to pick it up before I leave WDW, but for some reason always find something else I want more. Always when I get home I'm sorry I didn't get my trolls. Oh well, I'm going back in Dec, maybe I'll get them then. I also want one of the clocks in Japan.

When I was at the toy store last May I found the little character beanies that were dressed in the outfits from each of the countries in Epcot. I bought the ones for Canada and the United Kingdom and then when I went back Sept 22nd-30th decided to buy the rest of them. I was able to get one for every country except Italy and Morroco. I even went back to Epcot to check in the individual countries, but they didn't have them in stock so my Epcot beanies are missing two countries (really just one as I did find a Goofy dressed in African attire at AKL, but he wasn't holding a flag like the others are).

For the past three years my sister-in-law and I have admired those glass ornaments that are shaped like Mickey's head and then they paint your family's name and the year. Well, we've decided that we are going to DTD the first day we're in Orlando to buy one!

I always come home without enough Disney shirts for me. I could happily wear one every day...if only I had enough. :)

For those of us that loved the name Dixie Landings, before it became POR, I wished I had bought everything they had of DL! Especially a Dixie Landings coffee mug. I did buy a few things, a magnet and carcicature of my kids with the logo at the bottom, and a pin (so happy I have this!)...but I wish I had the mug. Even though we're DVC'rs now, and probably won't go back there, it still has a real special place in my heart.
