What software do you use?

Hi DISigners,

I have been the grateful recipient of many wonderful DISigns! I have also used blanks from DISigners and personalized them myself using powerpoint (mostly using WordArt).

I am now itching to move to the next level and downloaded a trial version of Photoshop Elements. It was prefect for making Ben10 cupcakes wrappers for my DS's 6th bday. I've also been working on magnets, shirts, etc for my Mom's upcoming cruise. She has said she'd buy me the full version of PSE if it would be helpful.

I'd love to learn how to do different designs and personalize them. I also envision myself doing some digital scrapbooking.

So, the question is: Is PSE the best software to do what I want or would you recommend something else?

I mostly use paintshop pro 7/ Corel paintshop XI and once in a while photoshop..

Reminder though....I do not want others to personalize any of my DISigns. I will do it when the request is posted to the right thread.

I use PS CC; rather than owning the software you pay a monthly fee and it includes updates and cloud storage. I think for the casual user, Elements is probably enough (though I admit I haven't used it, I've always had full Adobe CS to work with). For some things I will use Illustrator, but it's a complicated program with a steep learning curve and I don't recommend it to nonprofessionals. I suggest you sign up for Lynda.com's free trial and watch the video tutorials they have there on how to use PS Elements. It's honestly the best way to learn any of the CS software. I use Paintshop Pro x5. I really like it, been using PSP for many years.
