what snack do you take into the park

LOL you all have given me some GREAT ideas. I'm going to walk down to the store right now and buy some granola bars, trail mix, fruit snacks... I think that was the ONE thing I was forgetting on my list. Oh yeah! And I should get DH an anniversary card too... hmmm.. Thankfully, Hallmark is on my way!

Thanks for starting this thread and reminding me!

During our trips to the World, we take mostly Pez. We take about 150-180 little packs. LOL! We love the stuff!!

I like to bring nuts. Just a handful tends to stick with me a long time (the protein works much better than carbs to take the edge off my hunger).

It will just be my husband and myself celebrating our anniversary- so a time to kick back and not worry too much about finances, and I won't be taking snacks in. I am taking some zip-lock bags and a tupperware container for carrying dessert back to the room. We don't usually eat dessert, so I thought I'd bring it back and have it for breakfast or a snack in the evening. I read here about things getting squashed that people were trying to carry back, so I thought I'd bring my own container to supplement from the restaurant.

Why does them searching bags matter? You can take snacks into the park can't you. I have always done that, a granola bar or two, fruit etc. I never had a problem, even when they started searching bags.

Not only do they not care about food when searching bags, they will often joke about giving them some. They do allow soft cooler bags and we normally hang one off the stroller. We freze water bottles and juice boxes to keep it cold. We like grapes and watermellon too. So good on a hot day and so pricey in the parks. We sometimes pack the frozen pbj sandwiches for DD, but also teddy grams, furit snacks, what ever DD likes. We often take pop tarts or the like and eat them while waiting for the bus.

We take a strange mix of snacks so that there is something to please everyone. Pepperoni sticks inside two ziploc bags, those fish cheese crackers (into small ziploc bags and then into a plastic container so they don't squish) and I put grapes into a plastic container. Think I have a few food groups covered. I find that if I try to pack things like granola bars or apples no one eats them because they eat that stuff everyday. If you bring a snack, it has to be a treat. (yes, they do eat the snacks I mentioned but they are still "treat" snacks)

husband ( who is a really large toddler)took chewy granola bars which worked well in his cargo shorts leg pocket.stopped all the whining i usually hear... i never take any as i want to get stuff in the park and no snack from home would substitute.

love, love, love, fruit snacks and cheese crackers..

no fuss, no muss. never gets squished

and if kids weren't teens would now take the P&J sandwiches offered in Costco or BJ's and were offered at Poly concierge

believe you get 12 sandwiches for $9- kids just love them
