What size cake is enough?

what size cake do you guys recommend for 3 adults, a 17 year old, a 12 year old and a 3 year old?

The podium cakes are in my price range but they serve 5 and we are 6 if you count the 3 year old? would this be big enough? or should I go a size up to the 8 in?

It's quite a lengthy thread, but you can probably find some information about cake sizes and servings.

For my daughter's 16th birthday (December 2009), I ordered a custom cake from the Grand Floridian bakery for our dinner at 1900 Park Faire. I believe it was an 8 inch cake, and we had cake left over to take back to our resort. (There are five of us---At that time it would have been me, DH, DD 16, DD 13, and DS 7). Here's a picture:
