What site did you use to host your wedding site?

Did you use the DFTW Facebook app? Does it have privacy settings or will everyone in your or on Facebook see it? Did you use the knot, wedding wire? Who did you use? I need to make a site and I'm not sure who to use. I really want something password protected that not everyone can log on and see. But I can't seem to get any info from the sites unless you actually register.

I'm using wedding wire. You can PW protect, there are a TON of theme options, it's totally free, and very user-friendly. They also have great forums for general wedding issues.

Thank you I'll go check them out. I was a little worried that Facebook would share the information with everyone who's in my friends and I'm not inviting everyone =).

You can customize who sees it, just like you can with your status and pictures and everything else. I just don't want my wedding stuff to get mixed up into facebook. I'd rather it have it's own site with all the info for people to see clearly and without distractions.

Oh, with wedding wire you can also have people RSVP through your site if you want. You can upload music to play on your site. I bought the Disney Weddings instrumental CD to play on mine. And they have guest lists and seating charts, budget tools, checklists... It's pretty good, I'm happy with it.

The DFTW facebook app pretty much sucked for us. We kept it up anyway, but we also went with weddingwire and we really like it!

Were using wedding wire... Ours isn't PW protected but we love it.

LOL, I'm using the pink version of that template. :cool1:

You can also (no matter where you host your site) go through a domain registrar like godaddy.com and register for a custom URL. With a promo code it only cost me like $6 for a year and our guests can just go to alecandsteph.com so it's easier to remember.

One of my friends used blogspot because it's easier to personalize it. And I also bough a URL, but I cheapest out and got a $3 .info.

Bobbyandgina.info

No RSVP though. That the only drawback I can think of. I was able to put on more fun stuff though. Basically all the features are from other sites but not one site that I could find had everything I wanted.

we're using the knot, and password protection is an option. That said, we're not using it (the password) because it's like pushing a boulder up a hill just to get people to read the information we send them about the wedding, and get them to go to the site. If a password was involved, forget it.

We're using mywedding.com and there are a lot of options to make it more your style. I do not know if you can get a PW on it though, but that is a good thing to consider. I would just have to get the PW out to everyone when I send out the save the dates I guess.

We used Ewedding.com

Loved them!!! :goodvibes

The site was really easy to use and our website came out so pretty. It was very user friendly for our guests and we got lots of compliments on it.

The best thing was we were able to order a CD of our website as part of our year subscription, so when it expired after our wedding, we got a CD of our entire website as a keepsake :)
