I was going to make chicken salad (and have some rolls) for an upcoming picnic event. I want to bring a side, assorted individual bags of chips, and brownies. There will be other food that everyone else is bringing. What side would be good. I really would like to bring a cold dish. tia

My go to is broccoli salad. Broccoli, bacon, sun seeds, white grapes, red onion...drizzle with mayo/vinegar/sugar. SO good!

I think a fruit and/or veggie platter would be nice!

I know you said a cold dish, but baked beans might also work too.

I second the broccoli salad. That is always a winner. But if time is an issue if bring a bag of good quality chips like Kettle chips.

Well since chicken salad is mayo based I would avoid a mayo based side. Chips and pickles would do it for me. You could do a vinegar and oil based pasta salad or tomato and mozzarella salad. Or even cucumber and onion salad. I make 2. One is sour cream based and the other is Oil and vinegar.

Pickles and apples are my go to's with chicken salad!

That's true! I don't like mayonnaise at all, so, since I wouldn't be eating any of the chicken salad sandwiches, I'd appreciate having something non-mayonnaise based as an option.

I'd be fine w/ chips and veggies/fruit or a pasta salad w/ an oil & vinegar base & veggies/fruit.

Greek salad or à savory zucchini and cheese pie

I use cheddar instead of provolone, delicious! You can use dry basil (1/2 teaspoon)

You can make 1 1/2 recipe and put in a 9x13 pan and cut in squares.

That zucchini pie looks so good! Thank you for sharing the recipe! I've pinned it on my Pinterest boards!

Sounds yummy. Stupid question: Do you use a cheese grater to grate the zucchini? I've never grated zucchini before.

Either a grater or a food processor with the grater attachment.
