Help! We are leaving in less than two weeks and are wondering what the weather will be like. We will be going with our 4 little kids and was wondering what Annaheim is like weatherwise mid-April. Do we wear shorts/pants, longsleeves, bring jackets, sweatshirts?? Also we are going to try going to the beach is it going to be way too cold? Thanks for all suggestions!

I don't know, but it's always good with these questions to know where you will be coming from! :)

If you're from Hawaii it's one relative answer, but if you're from the frozen tundra, perhaps another answer. :goodvibes

Me too....and I'm coming from NYC (April 22-25).

I looked at the historical averages for Anaheim for April from weather.com and it said highs are usually in the 70s and lows are usually in the 50s. Rain is almost non-existent at less than an inch for the month, so I'm not expecting much rain during my trip or much humidity.

Can somebody who is familiar with the area verify that? And does it get really windy there or is it usually calm?

I'm planning to pack to dress in layers (t-shirts and sweatshirts), and also bring shorts and jeans.

I hope if the high is only 70 it is sunny and feels like 80. I can't wait to get out of this New England weather!

You know the Pacific Ocean is always kind of chilly. We're heading to the Texas coast about the time your at DLR. Right now the water temp is 68 degrees- Burrrrrrr! It won't get up much more by the time we go. I suspect you may be in a similar position beach wise.

At DLR, layers are best. We also keep a towel in the back pack. It serves as a spot saver for parades, dryer after Splash and Grizzly River Rapids and last minute blanket

Have agreat trip!

It seems like we are in the frozen tundra. We are coming from Utah which it snowed a ton today. I'm still wondering why we moved back after being in AZ for 5 years.:confused3

I just looked at the 10 day forecast (I'm going Monday) and it looks like it's going to be cold all next week. I'm pretty sure the last week or two of april will start warming up because in May it's already hot.

We just got back.....

We wore capri's each day except Sunday, which was overcast and it sprinkled a little even, when we wore jeans.

I brought jeans for the kids each night. All of us wore sweatshirts most of the day.

I probably should have backed at least 1 more pair of jeans for the kids. DD got SOOOOOOOOAKKKKED on Sunday, both on Splash and Grizzly, so her jeans were way to wet to "rewear".

Thanks for the tips. I was wondering the same thing.... we're leaving on Apr 11th and coming from North NJ.

The girls and I wore capris and t-shirts during the day. The boys wore shorts and t-shirts. We needed a light jacket or sweatshirt at night. Of course, twice we managed to end up forgetting them at the hotel so now we each have a nice collection of Disney attire :)

Well, we live in Nor Cal and we are bringing jeans, t-shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts (yes we are layering) and the kids will probably bring capri's or bermuda shorts as well. We may get a locker and store extra clothes in there too. The weather should be high 60's all week with a 20% chance of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday.

We were there last mid-April and our party of 23 wore mostly shorts and t-shirts. The weather was great since we were coming from the Midwest. At night, most of us dawned a sweatshirt, but that was it. Hope the weather is great for you. Make sure to check the local weather as your date gets closer. At one time, there was a thread with local tv stations that gave you a look at the weather. Don't trust the temps from accuweather or weather.com. We found them to be off most of the time. Good luck!

We are from the southern coast of Oregon... where it is cold and wet. We were at DL last week. It was in the 70' all week (with the exception of Sunday, 90!) and we wore shorts and tank tops all week. We would bring a sweatshirt/light jacket for the evening. I think we may have worn jeans a few nights... but could have easily gone in shorts.
It was sad coming home to a cold house and having to make a fire in the wood stove... burrrrr!!!!

I went yesterday and even though the forecast was cloudy with a 30% chance of rain, it was beautiful! The temps were supposed to be in the mid 60's but it was somewhere in the 70's. The minute the sun starts to go down though, it gets chilly!! Watch the weather forecast to decide what kind of layers you might need.
BTW the lines yesterday were not bad, 15-20 minutes for almost everything....Nemo was 30.
