We are new members, about 3 wks old, and have our first DVC stay at the beginning of OCT. We have 2 kids (4, 2) that will not be going with us this time. We are staying one night at AKV in a 1 BR savannah view, jambo house. Than we move to our home resort SSR for 4 nights. My question is with just the two of us where would be the best place to request for our first time.

I was thinking being close to downtown disney would be nice or maybe by the paddock pool. My wife loves nice views and just so you know we will have a car.

Thanks for any help.

Congress Park, Downtown Disney View is our favorite at SSR! You can walk to DTD, or you can walk down to the dock and take a boat there, it's lovely at night! There is a quiet pool near there. We enjoy Disney but also love doing other things like going to the movies. At DTD there is an eat in movie theater which we hope to try in the near future.

We also love the Turf Club, they have good food. All in all it's a lovely resort, enjoy yourselves!

Well, hey Kyle - WELCOME HOME!

Come and join us on the SSR Lovers Thread; and don't forget to enjoy those rockers while at SSR . . . Welcome Home!

I agree Congress Park, really nice views and a beautiful pool overlooking Downtown Disney with a great hot tub.

Another vote for Congress Park, if you're not bringing the kids. You'll want to take a walk past the Carriage House and scope out the Grandstand pool and splash area -- you'll want to stay there on your next trip with the kids.

I always request CP first. Once in a while we get lucky and get a DTD view too. But, most of all I love being able to walk to DTD from there or even being able to pick up one of the resort buses at the DTD bus depot if we're going for dinner at another resort.:thumbsup2

My second choice is Grandstand because it is a very convenient quick walk to the boat dock. You can also walk to DTD from there across the bridge. It is a little longer but it will take you to DTD Westside where all of the more "grown-up" restaurants are.;) The main area (restaurants, main pool, lounge, etc) is a quick walk as well. You won't need to car as much as you think unless you plan to go off property a lot.
