We will be going for 11 nights-not sure if we should do Disney or Universal first. We've been to Disney many times, but this will be the first for Universal. I'm worried if we do Universal at the end, we will be "burnt" out. But if we do it first, I worry my 9 year old won't enjoy Disney World!!!! What do you think is better?

First we are in CBR for 4 nights, then over to Universal for two and back to POR for 8. I think it gives you a good break. If my step kids were going (14 & 15) we would probably be staying at Universal longer.

If you are staying on-site at Universal, go there after WDW. The on-site perk of express access will spoil you.
Although, we did Universal first and then WDW because we were there during July 4th and figured FOTL would be better during the July 4th holiday and WDW would be packed.

FOTL (or whatever it is really called now) does spoil you. My kids are older and Orlando is all about the rides so UFS and IOA are their favorite. I try to fit them into the last part of my trip.

If you are staying on-site, I would do Universal on a weekend, since the FOTL access will be most appreciated during the busiest times.

It depends:

As everyone else stated, if you are staying onsite, it really doesn't matter which day.

If you are not staying on site, we have always found Sunday and Mondays to be slower.

US/IOA is the best, you will have a great time. Can't wait until we go back next time. I would highly recommend staying onsite also!

Thanks everyone. Yes, I will be staying on-site, so I think I will do it at the end. Of course, this isn't until next year, so who knows what Disney and Universal will have come up with by then. Also, it will be during a slower time, so I don't think the lines will be too long.

I made the horrible mistake of booking HRH then moving to the Dolphin. After just walking on rides and feeling like a VIP :D my first experience in EPCOT was a 45 min wait for a ride and a FastPass telling me to come back in 4 hours for TestTrack!

Even a 20 min wait is unbearable at Universal Express. And if your family is anything like mine, the younger ones will feel it even more!

I don't believe that UE will go away anytime soon, but it may be limited as it's been rumored forEVER. Have a great trip!
