We'll be arriving at the MK at around 1pm-2pm and are wondering what our first two attractions should be? We'd prefer not to do anything too overwelming and we would not like to wait very long in a line.

Which of these first two attractions do you reccomend?

P.S. We are a party of three, and we have an 11 year old.

I chose the first option, because you said you do not want to wait in a long line. All the other choices have at least one attraction that will have a long wait.

Hi DWwisher,
Your going at a great time... If your looking to ride on something I dont think you will have much of a wait at all on certain rides... I am saying this because at 3:00 the parade starts... Most people head over to watch it atleast an hour earlier... when they do the lines get shorter and the wait doesnt seem so bad. My opinion... knowing that it could be less crowded at the more busier rides, ride splash mountain. :rotfl:
Have a great time and I hope this helped!

We always start with Space Mountain. Didn't see the part about the long line. Get the fast pass anyway or you will have a 60-90 min wait.

How long? 10-15 minutes is alright.
At the time of year you are going you shouldn't have to wait long at all. I think the most we have ever waited is 20 minutes. I voted for Splash Mtn and BTM. Your 11yr old will love them both.

Enjoy, we loved our stay at POFQ last fall :thumbsup2

my answer is non of the above.

my suggestion is to go to Mickeys Philharmagic first, this sets the mood for the day very well. It instills the magic of what the place is all about.

second i would go to peter pan. Because if not it becomes a long line even for the fast pass holders very soon.

That's great about the short lines. And Splash Mtn and BTM look really fun.

It appears that Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain first are ahead in the votes with 9. And Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise first are in second with 6 votes.

Thanks for help, but I'd like a few more opinions! (This post was made by the 11yr old who actually makes most of the posts of this account.)

At that time of year, SM and BTMRR. I'd personally do BTMRR first then SM, because SM seems to queue up longer than BTM, and that one would be best to get in line for as people are really settling down for the parade.

And I have another question, when I go on Splash Mountain, which row should I go on to be only slightly wet? I know I'll dry in the sun but I don't like being wet. :sunny:

When I tour the MK, I almost always start in Adventureland and work my way around clockwise. Sometimes I might start in Fantasyland. I don't think I've ever started in Tomorrowland and worked my way counter clockwise. So, JC and POTC got my vote.

I went with Pirates / Jungle Cruise...
You can grab a fastpass for JC, and then ride Pirates (there's never a long wait for Pirates). By the time you're done, you should be close to parade time which will free up the mountains. Or you could just watch the parade...

Which parade is better, Nighttime or Daytime?
I actually am thinking about Pirates and Jungle Cruise first now.
It's crazy how you have to plan for Disney! :rotfl2:

The absolute first thing you should do upon entering the parks is obtain a fastpass for an attraction that you'd like to come back to later. Then go stand in line for one of the rides. I don't have an opinion on the ride choices you have b/c we usually start in Fantasyland (first thing in the morning). And by mid afternoon there will be long waits at Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan. If you really want to do them, you might get a fastpass for one (I think Peter Pan and maybe Pooh offer them, but not Dumbo) and come back later. I do know that Carosel of Progress accommodates large groups of people and probably won't have too much of a wait so you should save that one for a really crowed part of the day when you're having a hard time getting on anything else.

Do Mickey's Philharmagic! It is one of my absolute favorites, is usually a resonable wait, since it takes so many people at once, and your 11 year old will love it!

Subscribe to RideMax. Then you can plug in all the stuff you want to do and when you want to start and end and it will come up with a plan for the day based on shortest wait times. It is great. You can play around with it and get all sorts touring ideas based on what you want to do and see. You can put in breaks as well. So worth it!
