What should I wear in October?

We went the 1st week of Oct. last year & it was still warm & humid. It rained quite a bit as well. We wore shorts, short sleeved tops, & had our ponchos ready :thumbsup2 There definetly was not a need for jackets.

We are always there at Halloween time and I always bring my Mickey Mouse Halloween sweatshirt and never have the opportunity to wear it because it is too warm.

We go almost every Oct.I bring a raincoat type jacket for us as well as ponchos.I always have a sweatshirt for each of us too.

The weather is usually quite pleasant, meaning lower humidity, but one year,I think it was 2001 it was chilly. For a couple days we wore jackets/sweatshirts over our shorts to the parks that year.

If memory serves, I brought a light sweatshirt that I wore a couple of times on my last October trip. But I tend to get cold really easily and most people didn't seem to need the coverage. A light jacket would probably suffice.

There are times when it can get cool at night but it is usually still hot during the day. If the wind isn't blowing though, it can get a little warm at night as well.

It's usually pretty warm in October but some years we get a few cooler days.

Last year we went during the last week in October. We brought jeans and a sweatshirt for everyone, but didn't have to use them. It was shorts and tshirt weather the whole week. We are hoping for the same nice weather this October.

I've been there dozens of times in October and it is still quite warm. Depending on the time, it usually rains each day (hurricane season). Therefore, there is a bit of humidity in the air. Maybe bring a lightweight sweater for boat rides and evenings. Maybe one pair of pants, but that's about it. The usual weather is 70-90 daytime and 60-70 nighttime.

Do I need to bring a jacket or shorts/tshirt/sandals will do during that time?

I'd plan on layers. There was one year I can remember where it went down to 45 at night and we were freezing watching the fireworks.

Daytime highs are usually nice enough to wear shorts and t-shirt.

Last year there was a tropical depression parked over Orlando most of the week. I wished I had my crocs then. My sneakers got soaked every day :guilty:

It is still very warm so I don't think you would need a jacket. We are going again the same week and I bought a special rain cover for the strollers, now it definitely won't rain :rotfl:

We pack shorts and tshirts and one light jacket. Also dont forget your rain poncho just in case. Its cheaper to buy it and bring it than to buy one there!

I see that most of the folks who have posted so far are from up north. I live in Fl so to me, in October, early mornings and evenings can be a little chilly. Don't get me wrong, it warms up very quickly but it wouldn't hurt to bring a jacket, sweater, or some layers to dress in just in case.

We are going the same time this year too :goodvibes Hopefully it will not rain as much, but I will be ready :Pinkbounc

thanks for the replies. Another question - is it swimming weather? I know my dd would throw a fit if she does not get to play in the pool.

I'd bring a light jacket, but you probably won't use it.

In October, it is still warm to very warm here. However, I was in WDW in October when Wilma came through, and it was downright chilly when it was all over.

To sum it all up, bringing a light jackets, socks, etc. wouldn't hurt ............ just in case. ;)

During the day, yes (usually :) ), plus the pools are heated.

My DH and DD4 were at WDW last year the first week in October on a totally unexpected quick trip and it was very warm and humid. We wore shorts and t-shirts all day and evening quite happily. We were at YC and swam every day. The water at Stormalong Bay was warm and quite lovely. We are going back this October on a planned trip for a couple of days to take in the Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT which we went to for the first time last year and greatly enjoyed.

Wow, that sounds great. I wanted to book the yacht club but there were out of rooms for the villas and I had to book at the Boardwalk. I'm gonna call every week to see if I YC is available.

We went for MNSSHP last year mid-october. I brought a light jacket and a disney sweatshirt. During the early day and late evening it was pretty nippy so I wore the sweatshirt. But during the hottest part of the day I'd take it off.
Usually I would wear a short sleeve shirt, shorts and the sweatshirt...I need the sweatshirt more than I though. I told my mom I though she was ridiculous for even bringing it. But boy was I wrong.
