We will be in WDW in September - less than 50 days away woo hoo~!!! On the trip will be me, my DH, 2 DD's (3 and 7) and my parents. I am planning on taking a backpack each day and I'm sure no one else will be taking anything along (maybe my mom will take a fannypack, unless I can talk her out of it :) I'm afraid I may overpack and it will be too heavy to lug around for the day. Any suggestions???
Also, I am still back and forth about a stroller.... I really think we'll need it for my 3 year old.... should I just rent one?!?! HELP!!!
Thanks a bunch!
Ali

In my backpack I will have wipes, diapers, tylenol, motrin, advil, always pads, outfit for each of my girls, sunblock, bandaids, my dd seizure med and my wallet. I am renting a stroller from A babies best friend for the week and it will be cheaper then renting from the park.

because its a double and such a pain in the butt. I don't want to bring it on the plane with me. My girls will be 2 and 3 at the time of our trip so they will both need the stroller. Plus it will be delivered right to the hotel and picked up there at the end of our trip.

I have kids 5 and 7 this trip, I am usually one of the 'have to take everything for every possibility' type people, but have scaled down the last couple of trips. I plan to put in my backpack (the NEW one I bought the other day) for the park days:
-A change of clothes for the kids (the smallest and most light weight - a pair of shorts, shirt and socks)
-Ponchos for all
-Small water-sprayer type thing
-Sunscreen
-A couple bottles of frozen water
-a couple of light-up toys if staying till nighttime parade
-Antibacterial gel
-mini first aid kit (the tiny ones you buy at the dollar store with neosporin packets and band aids)
-Ziplock bags (gallon and sandwich) - for leftovers at restaurants, wet clothing, I have used them for many uses

Then in my over-the-shoulder camera holder - camera, credit card, tickets, a bit of cash.

Bring the stroller. We found ours to be life saver when we thought it would be an inconvenience. (It was a pain taking in on the tram though)

We packed up everything you would normally take in a diaper bag (our little guy isn't even two so he's still in diapers). On top of that bring sunscreen (applying ever two hours), water (I can usually fit two larger bottle in my backpack which lasts us the day), some basic first aid item (aspirin, bandages, etc) and some snacks. You'd be surprised how quickly a little snack will soothe a fussy child. (or maybe you're wouldn't be.)

I think really the biggest thing would be the sunscreen. We are always very careful with that because nothing will ruin a good time at Disney faster than some nastey sun burn on either you or the kids.

We are shipping water to our hotel, but I was under ther impression that we did not have a fridge in our room - we were planning on putting our bottled waters on ice the night before. We are staying at Port Orleans FQ - will we have a fridge?!?! that would be a nice surprise :)

Everything brymolmom said, plus:

ID
phone
money
towel (if I can get it to roll up really small!
clothespins to attach the dollar-store ponchos to the stroller while we are on rides
glowsticks
small wedding-size bubbles to entertain my kids in line
planning & itinerary cards
park map
autograph book & marker
emergency meds--Immodium, Advil, Excedrin Migraine, anti-nausea
Flip video camera

My girls are 5 and 3 this year, no diapers.

Here is my list, copied right out of my planning binder:

1 extra outfit per kid (in ziplock, small clothes)
sunblock (I got sunscreen wipes this year)
hats & sunglasses
ponchos and tiny umbrella (need for shade sometimes)
1 bottle of water
snacks
gum
money, cards, ID
Misty Fan
ziplocks
camera
clothespins (to keep cover on stroller)
small first aid kit (inludes: bandaids, hand sanitizer, sting ease, chewable children's motrin, adult advil, chapstick, moleskin)

I know I can get first aid products at the first aid stations, but for a minor boo-boo, it is a waste of time for us. A kiss and a bandaid will do.
Hope that helps!
