We leave next week and DH found out that his boss is going to pay for us to have dinner at Blue Bayou! I have never been (well, once when I was very little) and am stuck on what to order. I thought I would ask those that have been there to tell me what you liked. I am not a big fish fan so out of my choices, please tell me what you would order. :goodvibes

Jambalaya & Cookie Boat!

Hmm..............

The Ribs sound good, but then again, you're the one who's going to have to eat it. (get a water side table though):thumbsup2

Too bad the prime rib is gone. I love the jambalaya, it is super yummy!!

Last time we were there in August I had the short ribs :) mmm that's what I voted for :goodvibes

i voted for the shortribs! I ate them for my birthday and they melt in your mouth. Definitely a fantastic meal. I agree about getting a waterside table as well. That is what we did! I do recommend though getting a little information about the time you are going though because I was there during a band/choir competition and sitting at a waterside table and they were heckling everyone eating at the BB. Darn teenagers!!

Great food though. mmmm. I'm starting to crave it!

We just got back yesterday and had dinner there on Sunday. I had the Salmon and it was wonderful, husband had the Jambalaya and said the flavor was good. A girl at the table next to us got what I think was Prime Rib, it was HUGE. The potatoes were as good as we had heard and the gumbo was delicious.

If we don't go for dessert only ~ Cookie Boat! ~ DS and I share the Monte Cristo. I think we'll go for just the Cookie Boat next week, even when we share a meal we're too full to enjoy dessert. But if the boss is paying that would change everything! Have fun.

The monte cristo.

After 10 years of 2-3 trips per year I finally tried this. It is very good. I ordered it 2x on our last 5 day trip. I am sure it cut 6 months off my life.

More like a donut with meat filling.

:lmao: So true! So true! Don't even ask for a calorie count on this dish!!!:rotfl:

Thanks everyone for the opinions so far!

We have a PS for 4:30 (not very many choices left when I called yesterday), so hopefully no heckling teenagers (or adults) will be there!

We will definitely be trying the cookie boat...I don't care how stuffed I am...and since the boss is paying.... :rotfl: DH may have to roll me out of there, but I will have my cookie boat!

We also have a PS at Cafe Orleans (on a different day thank goodness!), so I will be getting the Monte Cristo (which I love) there. :lovestruc

My favorite choice isn't there in its entirety so I'm putting it here...get the steak and lobster!!!! You get filet mignon plus a lobster tail and it's fabulous. It doesn't cost much more than just the filet. My dd and I split it every time we go (along with a creme brulee for dessert).

I second this, the filet mignon and lobster tail was amazing, I believe it was only about 5 bucks more the the filet itself, it made the expensive meal seem alot more reasonable when ya get bothpirate:

oooh, The Blue Bayou Surf and Turf is so good.

I will try to post a picture when i get home. I'm at work right now.

I think I saw a picture of this that you posted in another thread. It looked so good, but I am not really a fan of lobster...although if I were to try it again, BB would probably be the place to do it! :)
