I'm gonna be at Disney for 4 nights before going on the disney cruise for 4 nights. My question is what type of pass should I get, this will be me and DD's (who's turning 5) first time at disney but DH has been before. What type of pass should we get for the 4 nights? :confused3 I know we wanna go to Magic Kingdom for a fact but other than that :confused3

Chances are that the day you depart on your cruise will not be a park day. The ship begins boarding at 1pm and it takes and hour to get from WDW to the port. You will want to arrive early enough to check in well before 1pm. If you're taking Disney transportation, you will be at the mercy of their schedule.

So, that leaves you with 3 full days in the parks (possibly a 4th day if you arrive early on your first day). My recommendation would be the 3-day or 4-day MYW base passes. That would be one park per day, no hopping. If you get the 3-day pass, you will have to choose which park NOT to visit on this trip. Even with a 4-day pass, you may decide that you prefer 2 days in the MK and none at another park.

If there's any possibility of a return trip to WDW within the next few years (and the budget allows for it), I would recommend that you purchase the 10-day MYW Hoppers (no-expiry) and save the additional days for the next trip. The cost/day decreases with the increase in the number of days that you purchase. It makes good economical sense, but only if a return trip is planned.

we're getting in at 4pm on the 1st day, is that enough time to go to a park?

Check the price difference between 3 and 4 day passes, if the difference isn't alot, why not get the extra day. If not you can always go to downtown disney for the first night. :) With your daughter being 5, I would recommend the non hopping feature.
The cruise is awesome!!! Enjoy!

Hey is there a late entry discount. I know at a number of amusement parks if you enter the park after a certain time, your ticket cost is discounted due to the late hour. Just wondering if WDW had the same policy. :confused3

Disney does have an "after 2pm" pass but it is sold to convention-goers and not to the general public. The savings over the cost of a 1-day/1-park non-hopper is about $19. For someone who only has ½-day to go into the parks, this is a deal but for someone who plans to spend 3 days there, it's not worth it.

The difference between a 3-day MYW Base Ticket and a 4-day MYW Base Ticket is $14.91/$11.71 (adult/child). I think that if you're thinking of trying to stretch your visit to include a 4th day, this would be your better ticket option.
