Here we are:

Family of Five :grouphug: - 2 Adults, 3 children (8,5,3)
December 2006 Wonder 4 day
TWO Category 11 Rooms
Taxes, Port Charges, Govt. Fees, Insurance Included

Pending Quote Issued Today: $2340 Total

Should I keep looking for a better deal? Will prices change/get better?

Or, should we go for it and book this reservation? :confused3

TIA for any insight..... :wave2:

We have very similar circumstance as you...DH, myself and our 2 kids and our nephew are going in a couple of weeks. We looked at the price for the Cat 4 (fit 5) and 2 cat 11 rooms. We ended up with 2 cat 10 staterooms (slight price increase from cat 11) with connecting door. Cat 11 doesn't have that. So we can leave the doors between the staterooms open to know what those 2 12yr old boys are doing. DD10 will be in with us. If we went with cat11, DH would have stayed in the room with the 2 boys and DD and i in the other...I like that we'll be all together instead of split up like that.

Something you may want to consider.

Find out about cancellation policies. If there is no penalty, then you might as well book it knowing you can cancel later if you find a better deal.

Prices will not go down, so waiting is not a good option. But do check with several different travel agencies to see if anyone has a group rate for that cruise. Good luck

This sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I agree though find out about any cancallation policies. We went on a 3 day Cat 6 with 4 only one room and it was close to this amount and that was in 2003.

Personally, if you can swing it, I'd go with two connecting category 10's. Your kids are little and that connecting door will be so much more convenient than having to go in and out of the hallway from one room to the next.

Just take a peek at the botom of this page...reduced staterooms from DU.
Not sure which date you were looking at or how much travel insurance was in the quote, but those listed here are group bookings so should be about the cheapest. Also, you usually don't have to book your insurance this far out.

Thanks for the referral...DU is who I am dealing with (Group Discount Quote includes insurance)...Any experiences with them in the past?

I have had a good experience with DU for our recent 3n Wonder trip. Do know that you will not receive the onboard ship credit for paying with a Disney Visa, this has been brought up recently. I thought we'd get it but evidently you cannot combine group rates with anything else. I would definately get 2 cat 10's for the connecting door (the lowest cat that has that) otherwise you and your dh will be split up watching kids at night- that wouldn't be much fun ;)

I also suggest dropping the travel ins on your quote and looking at insuremytrip.com this was recommended to us by a DU TA. I insured our whole 10d trip to WDW including cruise with medical, baggage ins, trip delay and cancellation coverage for $173 total. Much cheaper than going through Disney.

Also what are you doing about transfers. With a fam of 5 it would be cheaper to find a good deal on a car/minivan for the time and park it at the port for $35 or get a RT towncar/van to take you all to/from the port and not have to pay for parking. Disney transfers are expensive if you are a large family.

I agree. DCL has finally reached to point where their supply of two ships didn't keeping up with demand. Prices will only go up. The only exception MIGHT be catagory 11 cabins in a very off season, but in the past when ever prices have gone down, DCL has issued refunds for the difference (if you ask).
