Hi everyone!

We're taking our first trip to WDW since 1989 from Aug. 4-11. I booked POR with the Fairy Tale Package and the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to try a deluxe resort. I called the other day to see if I could change resorts to the Yacht or Beach Club, because I had seen them on the Travel Channel and I thought the location and pool would suit my 14 and 16 year olds. I have a 16 month old also, so the two older ones will be doing a lot of things by themselves and I like the fact that they could walk to Epcot and MGM.

Well, the only thing they had available in a deluxe hotel was AKL savannah view. I went ahead and got that and the place sounds fabulous (I'm really looking forward to eating at Boma). But should I still try to get into the Y or BC or Boardwalk? Would there be any possibility that anything would open up? We've reserved 2 connecting rooms, by the way, since the baby likes to wake up around 6 a.m. and the other girls like to sleep in. So I guess it would be more difficult to get two cancellations at one of the other places.

I guess I just want this vacation to be perfect because I don't know if we'll all get back to Disney together again since my 16 year old may be working next summer, or have a boyfriend or whatever.

Thanks for any advice you could give me.

Lynn

Hi Lynn! I would keep calling. Your trip is right around the corner, but you never know what might open up. The Epcot resort area is wonderful!! Everything is right at your fingertips. I haven't stayed at the AKL yet, but I have heard fantastic reports about it. So even if you aren't able to get into the Y or B clubs, I am sure you will have a great time at AKL :Pinkbounc

Enjoy your trip!!

Anywhere you stay on site is going to have that Disney magic. Sure the Y and B Club or the Boardwalk would be convenient, but why stress so close to your vacation.

Instead of desiring your vacation to be perfect, realize that it already is. You are all healthy and spending a great vacation together in a great resort. Setting your expectations at perfect only leads to disappointment. Have a great time and enjoy the precious time with your loved ones:D
