What should I do?

I have a 2 week trip coming up in late November with my kids, we will be at WDW for 12 nights and have 6 day one park per day tickets. My mom and I just booked flights and hotel for a quick 3 day trip to Pop! to do food and wine at the beginning of November. She has 2 day park hopper tickets that she never used when we went in 1994 that are still good to go. I was looking into just getting myself an annual pass because I believe this will be more cost effective than now purchasing an additional 2 day hopper to use with my mom. It will also be nice because I can add the memory maker for cheaper onto my pass and I will have it for both trips.

When I called Disney Reservations, they said that the only way that I can do this is to remove everyone's tickets from my reservation with my family and make it resort only and then buy their theme park tickets separately so it wont be a package anymore. I do have the Disney+ room discount which I don't believe I will lose since its not a package discount. I am just nervous about canceling everyone's tickets for some reason. I had paid for the trip with Disney gift cards so I can just rebuy the tickets immediately.

Does anyone have experience with this? Am I being irrationally nervous? Should I leave my reservation as is and just buy the hopper tickets to use with my mom? Are the theme park tickets cheaper when bought in a package, therefore causing me to lose more money that way?

I'd love thoughts and feedback!!! Also, I'm hoping this is the appropriate board to post this on. I wasn't sure which direction to go lol !

TIA

There's no reason to be nervous, and the price difference on tickets between those that are part of a package and purchasing separately is very minimal, if anything.

But I'd run the numbers.

A new IncrediPass (assuming you are out of state, is that correct?) is about $1500.

A 6-day base ticket for the end of November is $724. A 2-day hopper in early November is about $400.

Of course, if you'd use the AP for other trips in the coming year, that's another story!

I agree with running the numbers. ‘X’ number of days in the parks no longer = automatically upgrade to an AP. They’re expensive and often not worth it, especially if you have an offer you may lose.

Thank you both!! I crunched the numbers and it is about a $300 diffrence when I also factor in the difference in price for memory maker with an AP. I think I am going to take the plunge! With the discounts on food and merch being a little perk and also this will be an incentive for me to go back in the spring with a friend of mine who has been dying to do a girls trip.

Thank you both again for your input and for easing my unnecessary nerves! lol
