What should I do?

Hi everyone,

I was hoping you guys could help me make a decision!

Originally, I was going to book my Universal reservations tonight, we are planning on staying at the Royal Pacific Resort from May 4-8. This trip is supposed to help us get through the wait because we aren't going back to Disney until September!! (Actually to be honest I don't know how I'm going to be in Orlando and not going to Disney. )

Last night I was double-checking (ok triple checking ) my budget and went to the Southwest website again to look at the prices. Well it looks like the flights dropped about $65 just from last week! That money could help and would go toward our food/souvenir budget.

Here's my problem: I called Universal and they said when the "Stay 4 nights, and play free promotion" rooms are booked up, your just out of luck and there's not a certain day you have to book it by (al la free dining). That promotion does save me alot because I wouldn't have to buy tickets for 2 adults.

I only have the money to book one this week. I would have money next week to book the other.

Which one should I do first?

Book the hotel first.

Because if you buy the airline tickets first there might not be any rooms left.lol.

Can't you put them on a credit card? Not that I advocate using them for things you can't pay for but if you know you'll have the money next week, that would be before they would come due so you could cover them.

I actually just booked the hotel. Hopefully I made the right decision and Southwest's rates will stay the same! I was just nervous that Universal would stop running that promotion. I worry too much!

I think you did the right thing. At least you know you have the room with the special promotion. My in-laws purchased airfare for their trip last December with Southwest and a week later the rates went down (they were given credit towards another flight). So they may even go lower!
