What should I do with the new ticket policy/our situation?

I have 4 8 day NE PH WPF&M tickets for us that I was planning on bridging to PAPs. They were bought from UCT before the 6/13 price increase. We have family in Orlando, so I'm thinking of just buying 10 day base MYW tickets for our trip in Nov 14 (should be 9 or 10 days long) and saving the UCT tickets for a couple of days here and there when we visit. This is complicated by the fact that my youngest will turn 3 in 2016 and I won't have a ticket for him out of the UCT tickets. What would you do? Buy AP vouchers now? Buy tickets for our trip in Nov but then not be locked into AP trips in 2015? Pay the decent amount to upgrade to an AP from the UCT tickets? The ubiquitous other?

Let me complicate things a bit more for you. ;)

I'm not yet convinced that there actually IS an "official" new upgrade policy.

None of the convoluted explanations in that other thread hold up to the "smell test."

Along with while some guests have had refusals on doing ANY upgrades, period...
others have encountered no problems getting the full gate price (as usual) on recent upgrades.

Sounds (and smells) fishy to me.

I don't think we have heard the end story of this thing, yet.

I wholeheartedly agree with Robo I don't think at this point there is an " official "
word on this, it just doesn't feel ( or smell ) right

True, true, however, worst case scenario it's true, what would you do? We actually live much closer to DL and adore it, but can kill 2 birds with one stone (see family and vacation) going to Orlando.

So, why the statements from third party resellers? :confused3

I like you Robo.

What are your plans? What works for both your plans and your wallet?

You don't want to lose the discount on the NE tickets if this is all true. And 10 days will get you through for this upcoming trip.

When do you actually NEED APs?

When you have a 3 year old, buy whatever admission makes sense for your plans at that time, at that time. Don't worry about him now. Enjoy his free-ness. :)

Long talk with the hubs and honestly, with all this hoopla with FP+ and now the tickets, we're of the mind to just return the tickets and go to DL instead, buying MYW base tickets for our scheduled trip in Nov. to WDW. It seems like more trouble than it's worth and I feel like we can have a higher quality of vacation at DL.
