What should I do with all of these recipes?

I have a manilla envelope which has burst open on one side from all af the recipes I have stuffed into it! As you can imagin, it is not easy to find teh ones I am looking for. Any ideas on how to contain this mess? Does anyone know of a software program I can use if I scan them in ? Any ideas on how to organize the hard copies if I do not use a computer? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I doing a cross between the old-fashioned method of keeping 3x5 cards in a box & just typing up the recipes in Word & keeping them on the computer in different folders. (chicken, beef, Disney, Mexican, etc.)

I haven't gotten around to using software. Between my file/folder structure on the computer, the search function & my cards I can find things pretty quickly. Eventually I want to have everything printed on cards - but that file box is going to be enormous!

Well here is an idea my DD came up with when we moved recently. She brought in a 3 ring note book and plastic sheet protectors. She sat and organized all of my recipes for me. What a sweet girl. (11) Now I just keep the notebook on top of the fridge.

Try a program called Master Cook
It's wonderful! It allows you to create a whole cookbook, organize your recipes by type, adjust the recipe to feed more or less, make up the grocery list. I just love it!

I never even knew such a thing existed! I just looked it up (master cook) and it looks fantastic! I ordered one - Can't wait to use it! I love how it will generate a shopping list for you! That's what sold me!
