What should I do.....long!

Okay, here is the deal....

We have booked for May 9-15 a 1 BR at BWV with a Boardwalk view. DH finds out on Monday that there is a chance he could be moving to a new store which would involve a promotion for him . However, that store is scheduled for an inventory May 13-15 so of course we could not go as planned. We can not go the week before because of prep for inventory and can not go week after becuase of clean up from inventory. Then becuase of my job we can not go the end of the month

I look at April and of course there is basically a 1 week window that we could go away due to Easter break and end of month stuff for me.

Going April 18-24 and assuming it is available at BWV would be major points, however staying at OKW going in April would be still LESS points then our original May at BWV trip, which is very appealing (originally we had all intentions of staying at OKW in May but when he called and just happened to ask about a Boardwalk view and it was available we were just so excited and switched)

Now, we still do not know if he will be moving stores, and may not know that for another month or so. So, that said, should we just go for the safe zone and go in April and move to OKW or leave everything alone and just hang in there

I would leave it alone for now if that arrangement is what you are happiest with. OKW tends to have more availability. If you are really worried about getting nothing, call MS and have them check your April week. Without a ressie they will not guarantee anything (nor give you specifics) but they will tell you if that week is currently sold out, limited availability or will probably be fine.

That said, if the change in resort and date doesn't matter to you, and the piece of mind does, make the change now.

If flying, I guess I'd rather be on the conservative side (ie April)....

Also, maybe your hubby can give you info, but how often are scheduled openings delayed or moved, for other reasons????

So maybe what you have now might be okay...

I think getting an idea from MS about availablity in April is a good idea. In my town, that will be the week kids are off from school.

I guess I would take a chance and wait, becaue you would kick yourself if you end up not needing to change after you already have. I agree that checking availablility would be a good idea at this point. It might help make the decision.

Thanks everyone! I did call yesterday to MS and that week is available. I just had to know, and forgot to post that I did LOL!

My husband found out today from someone that he should know something within a month. My thing is I would die if say a month from now when we know a move is definate that week is booked

We are driving, and this was one of the reasons that there was always the possibility of DH changing positions and stores and not knowing when the inventory would be. It just so happened we really made a smart move because last November I was all set to book the airfare.


Okay, now knowing the chance of not knowing anything for a month, the week in April IS available, it is less points, we can try again for the Boardwalk view for our October trip...and the BEST bonus is our trip would be 3 weeks earlier what should I do?

Switch and have a definate date. Then you won't spend the time worrying, and you'll get to go to WDW no matter what, even if it will be a little busier(is that you're only reason for holding back or is it the BW vs OKW thing too)?

Just one other thought. I don't know your UY and points situation. Maybe you could book both now and cancel one next month. Even if you have to borrow a few points for the April ressie, if you do cancel that and go in May, they could reallocate for you and you could "bank those". Would need a few more details on your points to know if you could really hold both to be safe.

FWIW, if it were me, I would book the April week at OKW now because I'd want to bet on my DH - bet he's very deserving of the promotion, and that the new store would be SMART to go after him and LUCKY to get him!

Besides even though a BW view is very special, no way is it better than no trip at all, and there will be other trips to try for the BW view.

JMHO. Obviously, not everyone who as already posted agrees, LOL!

I am with CarolMN on this one. I say change the dates. BW view will be available at some point in the next 38 years. Also, by not changing the dates, you are going hoping against the promotion. And I think by your original post, you are hoping for the promotion.

Welp, I did it. I booked OKW and did keep the BWV just incase and had 1 point left over LOL!!!! We should know by March 1 what the situation is and that is enough time to cancel either one.
