Well, dd (7) and I have about two weeks before we leave for our first WDW trip :cool1: I can't believe its actually happening
Anyway, we're not frequent travelers, and given the new flight carry on rules could some suggest the most important items on what I should pack in our carry on for the both of us? I have a copy of the TSA list but would like to know what most people consider vitally important to have in their carry on, in case of lost luggage etc. I figure I'll start packing our carry on today.
Also, dd has her own small rolling backpack, If we put in some items for here in there like cololring books, doll(s), etc. will this be any problem?

Thank you all. Words cannot even express how invaluable the disboarders are ;)

We pack just what DD13 will use on the plane, some snacks, and her pins.

We in our backpacks have all our stuff(cameras, video, dvd)that we would not want to check.I have all of our paperwork in mine and DW takes some snacks as well.

We pack a few outfits in each others checked-bags so we don't do the what we might need in the carry-ons.But if you want to swin or anything then pack that.

IUf all of our bags are delayed we will just go buy what we need and if they are delayed over 24 hours we will file a claim to be reimbursted for that. In all of our trips only once has 1 bag be delayed and it was just a day.

I agree with the previous poster and will add carry on the power cords for your electronics. Also carry on any prescription medications.

Here is my carry on list for DD:
An extra set of clothes in case the luggage gets lost.
A light sweater or jacket in case the air conditioning is too cold.
A small blanket (I have princess baby blankets, they are the perfect size)
A few snacks (no drinks though)
Toys, stickers and books you mentioned. I limit the stuffed animals to one or two small ones since we usually purchase at least one on the trip.
A journal or some kind of notebook and a pen to make notes about the trip.
Lanyard and pins if you will be pin trading
My DD7 also needs those kids earplugs because taking off and landing really hurts her ears; I think they are called Earplanes, I got mine at Eckerds but I'm sure other pharmacies carry them.
I made my girls some fun nametags with my cell phone number to label their luggage and backpacks and bracelets with this info to wear in the parks.

On the way home also carry on:
Your photo CD and any photos or film. This could get lost or damaged in checked luggage. I am phobic about this since I lost some photos on a previous vacation that could not be replaced. Also, DH brought his laptop so we were able to view the photopass photos on his laptop which was fun.

Enjoy your trip! :yay:

Make Sure to pack a change of cloths incase something gets spilt or luggage is lost, besides that, just something to entertain you on the trip.

I would make sure that any special stuffed animals or blankets she needs to sleep are in her carry-on. Also snacks, lots of snacks!!!!! I also usually bring a sweatshirt on the plane because of the air-conditioning.

Pack your carry-ons as if you assume your checked luggage will be delayed for 24 hours. That way, in case your luggage actually is delayed, you really won't be inconvenienced at all. You may be unhappy that it's delayed, but you won't be stressed due to not having the things you really need.
