Hi as you can see by my ticker our trip is appoaching very quickly, we have all the days planned, (what parks what days), and we're going to Magic Kingdom first :goodvibes

I was just wondering what ride should be first, we'll both ride anything at MK but we just want a ride to put us right into the disney spirit.

I was thinking IASW but not sure...

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated :goodvibes

My first ride will be the Jungle Cruise, but that is because I am a Jungle Cruise groupie, lol!

What is your favourite movie/ character? Try to define that, and see if it has a ride at MK.

We'll be there October 22, and since they just refurbished the Haunted Mansion :hmghost: , that will be our first ride this trip at MK, followed immediately by POTC pirate: To top it off, DH and me will head to Fantasyland to ride Winnie the Pooh (my fav!!). Everything else will revolve around how busy it is and what FP I need or have.
Have a wonderful trip!:goodvibes

I would advise riding any of the disney classic attractions, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion are two of the Disney Favorites. But also if you really feel like starting your day off mellow the train that goes around the park is a good way to get into a "ride setting" as well as familiarize yourself with the MK.

Splash Mountain is always the best to start with!

Haha, did you notice how it seemed as though everyone answered with their own favorite? Haha!

I usually ride the TTA first. Its my memory thing from my childhood. My daddy and I always rode it first.

I usually b-line to Splash Mountain first, then Big Thunder RR. Then back track into Caribbean and do all that stuff. Cross over into Tomorrowland and up towards Fantasy Land. Finish it off down into Liberty Sq. Everyone goes to Fantasy Land first, specially the ones with kids. And Tomorrowland is the most crowded at nite. This path has been time tested many times over as the most effective.

Thanks for all the posts so far,
Our first ride would have been BTMRR but its down for rehab when we arrive :guilty: , but it opens the day before our last day so will hopefully still get to ride it :goodvibes

I'm still torn about what to go on :confused3

Maybe it'll be a spur of the moment type thing

These are all good answers. This makes it impossible to decide what to do first!

I love the Everest ride. Last time we went, I was prego... unable to ride it.
Next summer, it will be the first!!

What about Space Mountain???

Did it close, and I didn't hear?? How could I ever tell my kids that it is closed?

This is always our first and last ride.:cool1:

Have a great time!!!!

Space Mountain! It's alive and well and I would ride it first. I think it's because I still remember literally running to it on my first WDW trip at age 12! (many moons ago . . . we won't go there!) It's a great way to start the day at MK!

If you're up for a roller coaster I agree with Space Mountain. I remember riding it as a kid with my family and we always ran (literally ran) there first and got on and rode it until a line formed, usually 2 or 3 times. If you have a little one with you I would pick Dumbo. It is classic Disney and if you get there early the line is shorter. I also like the suggestions for POTC and the Haunted Mansion. One I haven't heard and it is my Dad's favorite is It's A Small World. I know it's cheesy but it is a sweet ride. Have fun!
