What should be our first ride?

Its A Small World. This is what WDW is all about. Bringing people from all over to one place to have fun and be a kid again.

Start with something that'll put you in a Disney mood right away - if you get there at park opening, go for one of the slow-loading classics before the lineups get too long: Dumbo, Peter Pan, Teacups, Astro-Orbitor (my fave to start the day, great view of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland) or Mickeys Philharmagic. If lineups are long on those already, go for It's a Small World or Pirates of the Caribbean.

We like to do Dumbo first b/c the line is always shortest first thing in the morning (plus we have little ones!).... if it was just dh and me, we'd probably do Space Mountain first... Have fun!!!

I'd say the Haunted Mansion first or Peter Pan's Flight, then Pirates of the Carribean. These always get me in the Disney spirit!

we usually get there as the park opens, and head straight to splash and thunder mountain, then head over to haunted mansion. Early, is the key to no wait times. Then the rest of the park. Have a great time on your trip !!

My first are usually POTC or Jungle Cruise. but maybe this time as we're with my DGF and the DBF of my DSis who are both going for the first time, we'll start with something like the train to Mickey's house, but I believe we'll stick with Adventureland first...
