What should be brung into a car of 6?

In July, my family and best friend are going down to WDW by car. What would be the essentials? You've got 3 teens and one 9 yr old in the back.

Lots of drinks, snacks, books, magazines, CDs, and GameBoys to keep them occupied is my suggestion.

First of all, you better have at least a mini-van, that many would be tight in any car! We have 4 kids and did many trips in our mini-van, but last summer moved up to a Suburban....NICE!!!! We love our movie player, previosly just video but our new ride plays videos and DVDs. We have the kind where the screen hangs down from the ceiling so everyone can see it. We drive long trips often, our kids are pretty used to it and really don't complain much. We like seeing the country-side and stopping at all of our favorite eateries!

I agree with pp. Take a mini van so it will be comfortable and have plenty to occupy time. Maybe consider a portable DVD player with lots of movies. We love ours. Keeps the kids quiet and happy.

The mini-van is fine for our around town travel, but it just isn't big enough for vacations. We have DD18, DS16, DS10 and DS5. We bought a GMC Savannah conversion used a few years ago and really love traveling in it. We seldom use it around home, so it's a bit of a luxury to pay the insurance every year, but it has been well worth it for the extra space. Now that the two oldest don't always go with us anymore, we'll probably not replace it when the time comes, but I'll miss the extra comfort.

We also have a mini van for around town. A drive to disney is 28 hours one way. My husband went to an auction and purchased a bus. That's right a 25 passenger bus. We put a bed in the back and have a portable toilet as well as an ac/dc cooler. We removed some seats and are able to carry our bikes and pretty much anything else we might need. Oh yeah he bought a 30 ft travel trailer to replace our small motor home so we tow the camper behind the bus. Last year it was just 5 of us, but this year we will be traveling with 3 others. We also have a 13 inch TV/VCR combo. Our kids know that it takes 2 days to get there and never ask are we there yet. I can't imagine driving in a car or even minivan 6 deep. Where are you going to put luggage for 6 people?
