I have recv'd a price quote for @ $6,100 for a family of 4 for 7 nts @ a premium resort w/ middle food plan. We want to go during spring break, which I know is peak. Last year we took the exact same vac, & we only paid @ $3,600. I know they are offering a $750 gift card which is useless as we will be traveling during the black out dates. I would appreciate any thoughts and/or advice. Thank you!

Unless you can get some kind of Pin- or promo that is similar to the price we are seeing WITHOUT dining! for when we want to go!
I'm holding out for a 4/3 deal again. A girl can dream can't she!

Have any of your children become Disney Adults this year? Making the price on tickets and dining higher?

The crowds are so awful during Spring Break that I'd feel like I was throwing money down the drain. In fact, last Spring Break, my package cost about what yours did with YC suite concierge. On top of that, the crowds were so large that I spent another $2500 on a private VIP tour just so we could get on rides avoiding the tremendous lines.
My decision is if I ever go at a crowded time again, I'll stay moderate or at the Swan/ Dolphin and then paying for the private tour won't hurt so much!

You may want to consider renting from a DVC owner......You can get a large villa for much less then the number you posted above.

Look to see when discount packages aren't offered. I imagine because Easter is on April 4th, that WDW considers Spring Break the last 2 weeks in March through the first 2 weeks in April.

Which Resort? What are the dates? Are both children between ages 3 and 9; if not, what are their ages? Obviously the Dining Plan offered is not Quick Service, but is it the regular DDP, the Deluxe Dining Plan or what; there are several? And does this include air or not; if yes, from where?

Obviously from your original statements we cannot say if it is a good deal or not without more information.

In other words, what are the specific ofers including tickets.

I'm assuming by premium that you are referring to deluxe?

Half your cost is the room and with park hoppers and meals for the entire 7 days, I think it sounds great if your heart is set on spring break. We tend to avoid peak times if possible. I do know that summer is not considered peak. (Peak is the couple weeks before/couple weeks after easter and Christmas.)

But if spring break is when you had to book a trip, it sounds appropriate and actually not that bad.

I'm assuming you booked CR, Poly, or GF--you have parkhopppers the whole time and you have the TS DDP that isn't the deluxe plan.

All that is missing is the ages of the kiddos.

Does that include airfare? I hope so! We're doing 7 nights with park hoppers and middle dining plan at a moderate resort, 3 of us, without flights, was $2200.00. But we're going in Janury too.

My kids are 7 & 10 yrs old. We wanted to stay @ the Polynesian as my kids LOVE the pool. The $6100 does not include park hoppers. We are lucky to get to one park a day & do not need ph's. Also, air fare is separate.

Here is the website:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/

It is very self explanatory and I am sure you could put in the specific information you want and get the price directly from Disney. I would never in a million years pay the price you were quoted, but that is me.

So for just kicks and giggles, I put in 6 nights/7 days, 7 day MYW tickets, and the dining plan and it was around $5,000.00 at the Poly... Like I said, never in a million years would I pay that amount...

Have fun planning your trip!

The quotes from the Disney website:

7 nights (14-21 March-- spring break rate), Poly garden view, 7 day base tickets

With Deluxe Dining Plan-- $6579
With regular Dining Plan-- $5998

The room is $130-155(weekend) per night more during this time than during value season.

CSR or another mod would be about $300 less per night for the same dates.

I would not go during spring break or stay at a different resort. I would not pay over $6000 + transportation for a week long trip.

It does seem high, even for the Poly.
I did a price comparison for you through the Disney Website, under "specials" right now you can get 40% off Delux resorts and for a Family of 4, (kids ages 7 and 10) for 7 nights Garden view room at the Poly, with 9 day base tickets and the Regular dining plan, it was $4,431.08. This was for the dates of
4/17 - 4/25
If you changed the dates to march say 3/20 to 3/27 the price was $4429.41, with everything mentioned above.

What are the dates you are going? A lot of it depends on the dates. If it's Easter week your going then you could not get this price, because there were no rooms available at the Poly for this rate (I tried) so that could be what the price difference is for you.

Are you going through a travel agent, Disney or somewhere else?

That appears high and I would not personally pay that for the trip, Height season when you will likely be waiting in long lines, cutting down on your "enjoyment"
Hope you can shop it out a bit and do better, Good Luck!!!

Please call Disney reservations and see if code QOX applies to this reservation.
See www.mousesavers.com (room discount in which tickets and dining can be added to). 35% off deluxe rooms.

I'd say that's about right. I priced the 4/3 deal for Spring Break (March 16-23...our SB is the week of March 15) with DDP, and it's just over $3000 at the Poly for a family of three.

Thats a lot of money........as I said in a previous post you should consider renting from a DVC owner. Example for a 7 night stay in March would run roughly $2700 for a 1 bedroom or $3500 for a 2 bedroom unit. Add in Storm A Long Bay and your all set. Just an idea...good luck
