What shoes with Capri's?

Hmmm. Well I guess I am a walking fashion 'no-no' today. I have on a grey polo, my purple capris (that are higher than the halfway point on my calves), with sneakers- and I have SOCKS ON!!! (they are socks that you can just barely see over the top of my sneakers)

I guess I will have to hide from more fashion forward folks for the remainder of the day!:rotfl:

Edited to add: I did think to myself this morning, that I would like to either go out and get cuter shoes to wear with capris, or to get a pedicure so I could wear sandals, but never thought it was horrible to wear sneakers and socks with them!

I'm not a fan of socks with capri's either, and by that I mean bobby socks, cuffed, or slouched. If they are tennis shoes with low ankle socks I don't mind those.

I also think capris and socks looks a little touristy and odd. I think sneakers are fine with capris in general, as long as the socks are no-show footy type things.

I'm not horribly offended by capris and visible socks-- I just don't think it's the best look there is.

I'm going to have to agree with everyone else... capris and socks don't mix. I live in capris and will either wear sandals, flip flops, Topsiders or Keds. Of course Keds and visable socks don't mix. I always wear Peds with my Keds! :thumbsup2

And just to note... there is never, ever and I do mean never a time when socks of any kind(including Peds) should be worn with Topsiders! :scared1:

When I am on vacation walking around all day, I will wear capris with my nikes and short socks. I can not be on my feet all day with sandals or even flats. I really do not care what the fashion police think or if I look like a tourist because I am one. When I go out shopping, having lunch or dinner with friends, I wear either sandals or ballerina flats. I just bought a pair of tory burch flats and they are adorable as well as comfortable and look great with capris. You know, when you are in your 50's you go for comfort.

I'll be right there looking tacky with you then!! :lmao: :thumbsup2 :rotfl:
Tacky girls unite! I wear a 9.5 AAAA shoe. The shoe industry has decided that women with very wide or very narrow feet only like to wear ugly shoes  I have a few pairs of $$$$ sandals, but sneakers laced up tight, with thick socks are really my only choice most days.

LOL, I was just thinking that I have a very cute pair of slip on Sketchers that I wear with my capis. I just slip them on no peds at all, just the bare feet. But here is the issue I face with them. They STINK after wearing them for two days!

So Here's the question I have for you all....Is it a no-no to wear the smallest lowest pair of abrely there peds that I can find?

If you mean slips ons as in no ties fully backed shoes, they I say sure....if you mean slide on mule types NO

With capris I wear slides or slingbacks. I also like the suggestion of ballerina flats. Don't like the sneaker/socks look either, sorry.

My plantar fasciitis wont allow flats.....I hope those of you that are so put out by people wearing good support shoes never find out how bad it feels to have to try to wear something on your feet just so you can walk with less pain. I have had PF for over 5 years so isn't going away soon.

Most "cute" shoes just don't have enough support. Even with my custom insoles it is painful.

But then again, I don't know you and you don't know me, so you wont have to be embarrassed by my shoes!!! LOL

.

These Sketchers look like you are wearing sneakers. They tie and have a slight lip in the back. I have always just slipped my foot into them. On hot days I don't want to offend others .or myself ;)

I also wear sandle with the capris.

I'm in the same boat (or should I say shoe) as you...Have to wear my tennies with my inserts...

Good thing is...I have a foot phobia...I hate looking at bare feet:scared1:

I would much rather see a low sock peeking out than see a grosso foot!

My sister and I just returned from WDW where we wore carpris with short socks and sneakers. Better to subject people to that look than the look of shorts on us (boney legs). :scared1: We were comfortable and our feet were, too.

I've "heard" ;) :rolleyes1 that Odor Eaters Spray works well for that problem. :lmao:

You can buy the toe cover socks. They are made to be worn with mules.

If you need to wear socks then get the really low cut ones that don't show. I have several pairs and they're really comfortable. The problem with anklet type socks and capri's is that it gives you a very chopped up look and makes even the longest legs look stubby.

I usually wear Skechers bikers mary janes with my capris!

I have 2 pairs, one like the ones above but with rhinestones on the straps :thumbsup2 , and one in silver mesh. I don't like to go sockless, so I wear Hue hidden cotton liners with them because those socks don't show.

My heals can't take wearing sandals all summer-they crack, split, HURT if I wear open shoes for any time. What other type of shoes would look good with capris for work? I am not a shoe person so this always stumps me!

I have a problem with dry heels and Dr. Scholls heal cream really worked. There are many new creams I see advertised on tv and in your drugstore.

One good thing about having dry heals is I never ever get foot odor or stinky feet. :lmao:

LOL, They only stink in those shoes.

Very cool.I'll be looking for those.
