I know this sounds stupid, but...

We have ADRs at some nice places (California Grill, Artist Point) and I'm wondering how I am supposed to walk around the parks and then go to dinner in the same clothes?

Ladies, do you carry around an extra pair of shoes? For me, I'm more concerned about wearing runners to dinner (as I will be able to put together an outfit that I can tour the park in and wear to dinner - just add a jacket/wrap, etc.)

Our first day there, Xmas Eve, we plan to arrive at MK at noon (bad timing I know) and our ADR at CR is for 5:40 pm. I don't want to take the time to head back to CS to change.

Since biz casual is the dress code, can my DH wear a golf shirt with dark jeans or does he need to be in Docker-type pants (less practical for going around MK since he'll have to have biz shoes on with them). I don't "let" him wear Dockers with runners. Do people wear runners with Dockers at dinner at these types of places.

Outside of WDW, we always dress properly for dinner, and I don't want to be a philistine and ruin the ambiance of the restaurant for other diners.

Thx for any insights!

cheers,

We went to Narcoossee's and everyone had on everything from park attire with tennis shoes to dressy outfits. They recently restated the dress code at signature restaurants to even include t-shirts. I'm sure your DH's jeans and polo shirt would be fine, and even tennis shoes. I get that you want to look nice, so you could rent a locker with different shoes or outfit in it and you could change before your reservation. We did go back to the room to change before most of our dinner reservations, but only because it was so blasted hot in October! If I was there in cooler weather, I would do like you plan, and just wear a versatile outfit.

Have a wonderful Disney christmas!!!:santa:

At least half of the diners at any signature restaurant, with the exception of V&A and Bistro de Paris, will be wearing whatever they wore to the parks. DH and I used to go back to our resort and dress or carry a backpack with dressier attire but we got tired of doing that and being seated next to tables with jeans, shorts, t-shirts, etc. Now we have joined the ranks of the relaxed people and just wear what we wear to the parks which is usually khaki type pants (or capris for me) and tennis shoes.

There is too much to do at WDW to worry about going back to your resort and losing valuable park time to dress for dinners at places that do not require it. I also wear nice flip flops on occasion too.

Jeans and tennis shoes (or even sandals) are just fine for any of those restaurants. And runners with dockers are just fine too.
Frankly--no one will even be looking at your footwear!!

We have always gone back to our room and changed, but we generally wear leather sandals. The last time my buddy and I took our wives to California Grill there were people there dressed in everything, we even saw people there dressed in track suits.

Thx a mint all for the replies. You've all eased my mind that I won't be committing a WDW faux pas...LOL!

cheers,

What you wear to the parks is generally acceptable for all TS restaurants located within.

It's the resorts places that are more stringent (V&A, for example).

Frankly--no one will even be looking at your footwear!! . . .

1) Not sure I agree with this.
2) Footwear is an integral part of the outfit - and people do notice (although they may not care).
3) Mrs. Rusty would not go into Cali Grille or Artist Point without heels.

NOTE: For finer eateries, I would not enter them in jeans or such. About as casual as I get for such places is Dockers with a nice shirt. IT IS ONLY PERSONAL OPINION, but for the prices, I want to dress for dinner, even if it is only business casual.

I agree that for Theme Park restaurants what you wear to the park is acceptible at the restaurant.
However for resort restaurants we always change before dinner. I agaree that for the more expensive restaurants attire is part of the ambience.
We even change for most WS restaurants, even though they are in a theme park.
I am sure that many don't agree with me, but this is who and what we are.
JMHO

This is why I like eating at WDW--anyone who wants to can still dress up. Anyone who dosen't want to dress up isn't made to do so.
