What shoes for a princess?

***my very first post--I'm so excited**

Anyway, we are headed to WDW in May. I will have a 4 year old who is an obsessed princess :) She wants to wear her costumes. I will be taking a stroller so walking long distances won't be a huge issue, but I know she will want to walk a bit. There's no way I can let her wear those plastic high heeled shoes.

What other shoes would you suggest she wear with her costume. I don't mind buying a couple different pair to coordinate with her various costumes but one day she'll need braces and college, kwim?

I also realize that it will be pretty warm so I need shoes that will look ok when she takes off the costume and puts on regular clothes.

One thing I thought about was maybe to get some off the off-brand Crocs?? Maybe light blue for Cinderella, yellow for Belle, etc?

Anyone have any suggestions?

TIA
Amy

My girls wore Crocs with their princess dresses, after all, nothing says princess like Crocs! They walked a lot and I could not imagine them wearing the costume shoes. Have a fun trip!!!

I picked up a few pairs of Mary Jane style tennis shoes from Target that were covered in sequins for DD to wear while we were there. They were fancy, but still comfy. While we were at WDW she latched onto this pair of bright pink sparkle tennis shoes (kinda like Converse, only covered in bright pink glitter). They had a Disney princess crown on the toe, and she just HAD to have them. She looked absolutely adorable in her new Princess Belle dress and hot pink tennis shoes! Really. It's what all the cool princesses wear. :cool1:

My4 yr old DD wore crocs and I brought sneakers just in case.BUT I did not use a stroller(nor did I have one for her) so it was important to keep her feet comfortable. She wore her dress for all of 10 seconds , we went in Sept and it was way too hot for the dress.

My dd's wore comfy white sandals or "ked's" type tennis shoes with the dress as well as regular clothing. You could spray some glitter or sparkles on them to dress them up a little :)

Just returned on Saturday and my DD4 switched off her pink croc-ish shoes with her pink swoosh Nikes. I had a pair of black patent shoes for our pictures on the beach at Poly, but wouldn't let her wear them in the parks-didn't fit well enough for that. There were a few complaints of sore feet, but as long as I switched them off and we were strolling most of the time, she didn't develop blisters or have any real problems.

We've done a few different things...

On one trip, we took the princess shoes for the character meal and then swtiched to a white ked sneaker after.

On our most recent trip, I bought two pairs of sparkly ballet type flats from Target - one silver and one black - and she wore those with her dresses.

Have fun!

My DD wore crocs most days too. She did wear sparkly red shoes to dinner with the princesses. What ever you decide - break in the shoes before the trip! We didn't do that ith the red shoes, and she only wore them a few hours, hardly walked in them and she got a little blister. Luckily she wore the crocs the next day, so they didn't bother her boo-boo. ;)

My nearly four year old will not take off a pair of pink sparkly ballet flats. I bought them a couple of weeks ago at Pay Less. They are pink, and glittery and our the "disney" brand if you go looking for them. We wear our shoes a lot before going to Disney, to work them in, and these shoes would work at the parks, I believe. However, we've only had them for about a month a half and most of the sparkles are gone on the toes because my daughter wears them while riding her scooter. LOL, that doesn't work.

On our last trip, my daughter figured out her cowboy boots had a heel on them, big enough to make her reach the height restrictions on Splash and Big Thunder. So, she wore her princess dresses and a pair of pink cowboy boots. She was in hog heaven!

My girls wore the black Mary Jane stlye crocs with all their princess dresses. They looked cute and were easy on their feet.

my DD wore the princess shoes for her character breakfast then we switched them out for sandals. She wore sandals everyday; she prefers her feet to be open to the air since she would rather be barefoot (like her mom) - doesn't like sneakers much and 0nly wears them or crocs for play.

I got my DD pink Crocs - they went great with regular clothes and her princess gown. :thumbsup2

We have the Target sparkly silver shoes. They also have them in red depending on her outfit. They wear them all the time, but looked extra special with their princess costumes.
