I'd love to hear what shampoo and conditioner you use! I'm in the market and am looking for some suggestions. I need something to make my locks shiny and pretty! :lovestruc

Just some info:
~My hair is SUPER LONG. Well, not super long, but longer than most. It's probably about 5 inches away from my butt.

~My hair is not dyed.

~My hair gets tangled. All. The. Time.

~I'd rather get the shampoo/conditioner from Target or Wal-Mart than a salon but I'm willing to splurge if the shampoo/condition is magical.

Looking forward to your suggestions! THANKS!! :grouphug:

I use cheap shampoo, whatever is on sale. Usually suave. I use Feria conditioner which is expensive, but awesome.

Thanks!! Any other recommendations?

Funny, but after one of my previous Disney stays I found the H2O shampoo in my bag... I had to go to the website and order some. LOL I actually use a different shampoo almost everyday. That's just the way I roll. ;)

2 words- SULFATE FREE!! I tried it and will never use anything else. I didn't think it would be any different than anything else, but it is amazing! My hair has never felt healthier and it's not as frizzy. I use to have to straighten it everyday but I don't need to anymore. And I get it at Wal-Mart!! It's Loreal- not sure if that's spelled right. You should really try it my mom and girfriend are hooked now to and can't believe how awesome it is. Good Luck.

I use the Loreal sulfate free also:thumbsup2

I have very fine hair, almost to my waist, tends to be dry, easily tangled, never dyed. I use Suave Professionals Rosemary and Mint shampoo and conditioner. I used to use Suave Professionals Shea Butter and Almond but I found it too heavy, and before that I used Aveeno Volumizing, which I did like a lot.

I have mid-back length frizzy hair with lots of split ends (I blow dry and straighten every day) and have found Dove Oil Care shampoo and conditioner to be amazing. I'll never use anything else.

I use a shampoo bar from Basin called "Hair Food". This is my most favorite shampoo I have ever used and they last for a really long time. My DH bought me a tube of them for Christmas. Hair food leaves my hair so ridiculously soft that people at work actually pet it! LOL! It is also very very shiny. I really cannot say enough great things about this shampoo!

You can order it online and have it delivered right to you. It's only $7.99 per bar and they last for between 60-75 washes for me depending on if I am washing any products out of my hair or just washing "dirty" hair.

Hair Food - Three conditioners eliminate tangles and static, while increasing volume for shiny soft hair. Great for curly, frizzy, dry or straight hair.

I've used their "Good Hair Day" as well and I liked it but I like Hair Food even better. It just leaves my hair so healthy and soft feeling!

Suave if I have a coupon, White Rain when it's 0.79 or less at CVS if not. Frankly, I'm worth it. :rotfl:

Seriously, I've tried high end salon shampoos and have noticed no difference whatsoever.

I use Nutri-Ox (generic Nioxin sold at Sally) because my hair is ridiculously thin and baby fine.

For thick, shiny hair I've heard that Mane & Tail (sold in the pet dept at WM but says on the bottle human use is fine) works really well.

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette

I dye my hair dark brown and this stuff is magical.

I'm a hairstylist... i hear many people like dove, so whatever works for them! I personally am a firm believer in sulfate-free... Alterna is amazing (as someone else mentioned). I'm currently obsessed (and have been for 5 years) with Biolage Ultra Hydrating. They revamped their line and i've never found anything more hydrating for my locks! love it!

I use Chagrin Valley Soaps. They're most definitely sulfate and paraben-free. Just a little bit goes a long way and my hair feels amazing!

If you like the sulfate free stuff you should give Sally's Beauty Supply a try. They have liter bottles on sale BOGO so they worked out to $8 for a liter and if you sign up for their Beauty club card you can get $5 off that. I was buying the Loreal brand until I found this, it's called Hairtrition and it's awesome. I do color my hair and the sulfate free is the way to go. The color lasts a lot longer.

My friend who is a hairstylist recommended Alterna Caviar shampoo and conditioner. I went over to the sephora website and saw great reviews. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P269705&categoryId=B70#BVRRWidgetID I have been using it for 3 weeks now and really see a difference in my hair.

I've been using this for years. Very good stuff but EXTREMELY expensive. Fortunately, my cousin is a stylist and she orders it at 50% discount for. I don't think I could pay full price for it. But it's lovely.

I do this too. Right now I'm using some Suave kids shampoo and Redken All Soft conditioner.

100% pure jojoba oil with a natural boar brush does amazing things for long hair, do searches on youtube for oiling hair tutorials to see for yourself!
