Hey folks,

We're going to add more sample touring plans to the TouringPlans.com website. We're going to have at least one sample plan for each park. If there's a particular kind of plan you'd like to see for any park, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi Len!
Thanks for all of your great work. I'm always interested to see afternoon touring plans. We love taking the afternoon breaks, and we're always at a bit of a loss where to start when we head back out in the evening.

Len,
My wife and I have 3 children ranging in age from 11 to 6. While that is only 5 years it is world's apart in what they like to do. My 6 year old girl wants to go to Fantasyland and Mickey's Toontown while my 9 year old son wants to hit the mountains. My 11 year old daughter is somewhere in the middle of those two. So my request would be for the "make everybody happy" plan, something that is a compromise for all of us, but does the best at eliminating waits.

Love the UG and sure do appreciate the way you interact on this board. Your involvement here is the best advertisement for the UG I could think of.

I'd love to see a plan which incorporates EMH at MK. Also, I love the plan for young kids at MK. What about one at MGM? We don't do Tower of Terror, Rock N Roller Coaster or Star Tours (our kids will be 8, 5 and 2 at next visit but oldest is scared of the big rides) What about a plan that incorporates most everything else?

Incorporate afternoon break, definitely. My DH and I really need the nap! My DS is 11, DD is 9. They like to ride different rides. I'd like a plan that had the adults splitting up with the kids, one to the big coasters, one to little people rides, like Dumbo. That's still on my daughter's to do list. Have everyone meet up again to do fun rides like the jungle cruise. This will be a tough plan for you. Sorry, Len!

I think a mid afternoon starting plan would be good too - post lunch, mid-day breaks, people arriving later etc

thanks

Hi Les,

I'd like to see a plan for arriving at MK in the afternoon. Thanks for all you do... and I can't wait for 2005 issue with Christmas ideas....

I agree with above posters on the afternoon plan.

You know I'm a big UG fan Len. When the guide suggests taking a break in the afternoon, there's never a specific time. A "nap" or a "swim" could be 30 minutes or two hours. "Return to the park later"...does that mean 5pm?, 8pm? hour before closing? I could see that being helpful. At what time is "returning later" no longer useful?

Also, (and I know you're on this) if that evening version of EMH is implemented on a permanent basis, it opens a new world of late night/early morning touring possibilities. There's another 10 pages right there.

Your work is much appreciated:earsboy:

Hi. I am a huge fan of the UG and plan to use the touring plans when we go in June. I just studied the MGM touring plan and I am pretty much going to follow it to the letter when we go in June. The only thing I am having trouble with is knowing when to fit in lunch. After which attraction will it be lunchtime or parade time? I know I may have to skip a few things if I choose to do these things but what I'm having trouble visualizing how long things take. I would love to see touring plans that give guidelines for time. Maybe it could indicate how many steps you should get through in the first hour, then the second and third... this way you would know if you are behind schedule. Maybe I am being too rigid with my schedule, I'm not sure. As I am writing this post I'm thinking I might be. I know my husband would say that I was. I hope this makes sense.
Thanks for all your work!
Amy

I'd love to see a "park hopping plan"!

1/2 day MK, sit down lunch(instead of hotel break) followed by the remainder of the day at Epcot....this is a "standard" park hopping day for us and I'd love to read your version.

I echo the others with a request for a tour with a mid day break.

If you are just looking for ideas, though, how about a 'shows' no scary rides type tour? I know a lot of senior citizens enjoy less 'thrilling' activities sometimes but don't want to do the baby rides like Dumbo.

Thanks for asking our opinions!

ditto what everyone else said. I would love to see a plan incorporating MK afternoon touring.

Thanks very much folks.

Okay, I think we have consensus on mid-afternoon touring of the MK to start with. The Guide usually assumes summer-like touring conditions (i.e., park hours and crowds). Knowing that, we need to come up with some attractions to see. Let's start with around a dozen and see where that gets us. Be sure to cover the highlights of the park, and include kid-friendly attractions.

Micca and dougsmom98 the breaks are at least three hours. IIRC, we put 3.5 hours in the touring plan software. And we think "lunchtime" is noon-ish, I believe, in the plans.

Thanks very much for the feedback on the Guide. I'll be interested to see what attractions the DIS comes up with.

Sincerely,

Len Testa

I would love to see an adults that are into shopping and taking it easy plan. But, I can see where that wouldn't be as popular as the basic family plans. lol Maggie

I would like to see a park hopping plan as well. Maybe even a super comando thrill ride park hopping plan. :hyper: Ok maybe there's not a huge market for that but it would be fun.

I'd vote for a "something for everyone" or "for all ages" plan. The touring plans were great when it was just DH and I, but now that we have 3 kids who are different heights, we find we have to make our own. We need something that doesn't spend too much time in Fantasyland or waiting for the bigger (more adventurous) ones to ride the Mountains, and recognizes that the baby swap takes longer if they're doing it Fastpass-style. I think this type of plan would be great for families and larger groups.

We just love having the plans as we don't waste time wondering what we're going to do next. There's no arguing about it, we just do it. Much happier family if Mom and Dad are happier!

The late start touring plan for all parks - As my husband keeps reminding me its his vacation too and he likes to sleep in a little!

Would also love to see a touring plan for the "off" season - where it takes into account the fact that the parks are closed early.

Thank you for all of your help!

Please work in Dumbo, for my 9 year old DD. And the mountains for my 11 year old DS. Thanks!
